These are great for their respective contracts, and for Mercs in general.
The Avalancher is the 'jack that Searforge has always wanted, and Thor can make it do terrible things to people.
Taryn will be a fantastic assassination tool, with a pair of shots capable of negating intervening models (hiding behind a pair of destroyers? too bad!), so that other Mercs can blast the warcaster/warlock to shreds. Nice!

Does Iron Rot get around Myrmidon Force Fields? As it specifies Hull?

Yes. It specifies a system, not a column or a set amount of damage.

Exactly.
The main benefit to Taryn is in concert with Rutger Shaw, as Dodge is going to make her terrifyingly hard to kill with ranged fire. My Favorite ability actually isn't Iron Rot (which feels like a weaker version of Eiryss's Death Bolt), but rather Shadow Fire. Enemy warcasters can't hide from fire behind their warjacks anymore. Imagine this combined with a CRA from long gunners or a volley from a Trencher unit :)
Or Deliverers and Redeemers with Death Sentence...

Unfortunately that can't happen. Shadow Fire is "friendly Faction", so only works with Mercs. That said, Highborn Covenant Long Gunners could do it.
Then again, if you're got Taryn and Rutger, and Rutger's marshaling a ranged 'jack, it'll work.

Good catch on the wording there, although it does leave me in a state of "too much awesome" withdrawal...
Either way though, the Mule just got a lot scarier with Taryn running around, as did just about any other Merc unit with a ranged weapon. The trick seems not so much getting this thing off, as keeping Taryn alive once your opponent knows what she can do. Running around behind standard infantry lines or bouncing from warjack to warjack is my current strategy with her (as I've had the model since the IK days), with Rutger marshaling a Nomad to run around and cause enough of a distraction that she can get the Shadow Fire shell into the right position. Once its there, I use my allied contingent of Long Gunners and Ashlynn's Mule, combined with her feat, to seal the death of the enemy warcaster. Got it off against Irusk the other day, and I smiled a bit inwardly at some deserved Llealese revenge :P

She's one of those solos, I've found, that even if she died without doing much, she attracted a lot of attention, leaving my other units be.
I like Rutger with a Vanguard, as it's just as fast as he is, has 3 attacks on a charge, and has Shield Guard and a ranged attack. However, I haven't played much with the Nomad on him, so maybe I'll try that.
Still, I think Taryn is the star of the show, with TWO Shadow Fire rounds! That's a lot of incoming fire you give an open firing lane to.
