Hello!

First post! Not sure if I am in the right place....be kind :)

I have created a simple Tactical Objective Generator as the cards are out of stock and managing the cards with duplicates, similar names and dice rolls can be annoying.

Works best on mobile, in landscape mode.

Just wanted to know people's thoughts. You can read more here http://cadianshock.com/tactical-missions-objective-card-generator/

And use it here http://cadianshock.com/40k/tac-cards/

Thanks

This is actually very handy for me. Shared it with my gaming group, we tried a tournament here with Tac Cards, and in my last game I just gave up on the constant rolling and counting and just went for blood.

Oh superb! Glad it'll help you and your group. Let me know how it goes down in real games. I have yet to use it "in anger" yet, should get to July 15th.

The cards should be back in stock by the way, if anyone wants to buy them

That's a great idea! I love it. Bookmarked :)

Why do completed and cancelled objectives go away from the total pool of both players? There should be two pools, one for each player, not just 36 cards for both.

Other than that, might come in handy, good job ;)

I have no interest in giving GW a cent from these pain in the butt bits of paper. If I have to have them, I'll print my own.

Thanks Hokiecow!

Fukushim, is that right - that would mean a deck per player? This isn't how I saw it in the rules, there is one deck of 36 cards. Have I missed something?

I have an update coming soon with a few new features and fixes - watch this space!

Yes, cadianshock, it's in this section:
Tactical objectives-Generating tactical objectives: "if your opponent has generated a particular
Tactical Objective that you have not yet generated, you can still generate that Tactical Objective."
What this means is that both players need their own decks.

I am actually surprised GW hasn't made an app like this yet.

Right! Will fix this later on. Thanks! In that case we'll label this version "Beta" :)

Woah, so edgy.

Woah, so edgy.

I'm just being honest. By in large the Maestrom Missions are awful unless you house rule them. The cards are a pain. I'm certainly not going to reward them 15 bucks for doing a bad job.

The cards aren't $15, and if you play them with friends, Maelstrom Missions are great fun and really give you a different way to play the game, but I guess that would get in the way of you making snide comments about GW on the internet.

If either of you want to continue this discussion here instead of PMs, feel free… but I will ban you for a week if you choose to do so.

Keep it on topic.
Thank you.

Returning to the OP's topic, I do think his program is useful. I like that it is yet another way to NOT have to buy the physical cards and a far more effective way to keep up with them. Will you be modifying the program so that house ruled variations will work rather than simply the basic Maelstrom missions?

Awesome app. I really like how it works. It has a glitch (for me at least) though. When using the secret cards option, regardless of which toggle button I press, player two's cards are shown, and I have no way of viewing player one's cards. Fix this little glitch and the program I perfect :)

Great idea this. Well executed too. :) And very handy for people who don't have the cards.

@Fukushim - thats been fixed now.

@bobtheoverlord - thanks for that, its fixed now.

Also;

Secondary objectives can now be logged too.

Clicking the score button now shows a summary of the scores.

Added Feedback and Change Log buttons at the top.

Has anyone had chance to use it in a game yet?

I have not yet, should be able to next week.

I was surprised too! However...have you seen this awesomeness that was recently announced? ( https://www.facebook.com/DerpStudios/posts/1015891701784194 )

Yes Chris it does look awesome!

You run/own Derp Studios who are producing the mobile app right?

If so, best of luck with the app - it is looking superb so far! You would have a promised purchase from me, but I already own the cards :-/

I own the cards but I think I'll grab it anyway, handy as I have a few different armies.
