I'm a huge proponent of asymmetrical (or just plain weird) armor. The Forge World Valdor makes me weak in the geek knees. So when I stumbled across this thing over at http://princeps-101skitarii.blogspot.com/, I absolutely had to share and give props to the designer.

That top heavy monster is gorgeous, with a face only a mother (and someone like me) can can love. Very WWI retro. Good stuff.

I've never had much luck with those "put your pix here" posts, but I'll give it a go. I wouldn't mind seeing a bunch of weirdly cool armor-related shots compiled in this thread as a reference point for ideas.

So what'cha got?

Nice! That's a fine piece of work you go there Aldramelech. I prefer it to the Forge World offering. ZSU turret, or custom?

And yeah, shades of Lee/Grant or FT-17 on the guy up top there.

I have two which defy description (the walkers) ...

OMG those walkers are AWESOME!

One hilarious thing: the feet on both those titans are taken from imperial AT-ST's, or "chicken walkers". I had that toy. :D

I love that issue of WD. It's got so much of just STUFF in it.

WHat issue of WD is that? I actually have the parts that are used to make that head cover. I've been holding them for a good kit bash project.

WD 120. Has Terminators v Genestealers on the cover. Features include: The War Griffons Legion, Tzeentch, a complete adventure for WFRP, The Sabre tank hunter (rules and conversion instructions)*, Power armor n Space Hulk.
Back when WD really had lots of stuff in it.

*based on looking at the Sabre, I'd say it "Evolved" into both the Predator (an AC as the main gun) and the Vindicator (main gun in the hull)

Thats rather cool. It puts me in mind of a Lee/Grant.

Exactly my thought, not the most effective tank in history (massive understatement), but cool looking nonetheless...

It is a Zoids Gustav model.

I have to say I've seen quite a few "Chicken walker" ATST conversions for 40k. - i miss when White dwarf was actually worth the effort to buy, i havent bought one for going on 6 years now - all adverts for things i either own, or can see for free in my local GW - or online (who are they advertising these things to? people living in a cave next door to a magazine shop?) alongside lackluster conversion sections and half heartedly written up battle reports.

the zoids gustav on top does make the model more "Armoured" and very 2nd edition looking, not really my style, but i can see why it was made and why some of the older hats might love it :D

The ww2 inspired tank ticks all my boxes. its Very imperial guard.

Nice Thread!

hey I seem to remember a really old issue of White Dwarf that had a kit-bashed/conversion vehicle loosely based on the dropship from Aliens. I always love that thing. Does anyone happen to have a pic of that thing - I think it would go nicely in this thread.

O.G.R.E 40k = win

I can see an apocalypse datasheet developing already although I imagine it a little more like a baneblade plus crewed by guard rather than marines or possibly something from pre-heresy that the fists / iron warriors used
