My Army is a Rogue Trader-themed one. i use the Guard Codex, but mod the minis as if it were a big ol' bunch of space-faring mercs and faithful attached to a Rogue Trader.
When i started playing, RT was the main fluff, and i guess it's stuck in me.
These are my 'Rough Riders'. Yes, still basically a demi-useless squad, but visually they're damn shiny. My RT Rough Riders are all Kroot Mercs.
It's all WYSIWYG, and tho they're on skimmers, there's no special rules for the mod. They're still used and represented just as any other non-skimmer mounts. they don't have any special 'Kroot' abilities.
i figure that the Kroot build makes them as good as horses, but not as good as Jet Bikes... until we get Guard Jet Bikes back.
i'll start painting em soon, but i wanted to share my post-building time:
