Nurgle themed Daemon Army WIP (picture heavy)

Hey guys, im going to show my WIP Nurgle themed Daemon Army....
this project has taken quite a while to get to this stage, and it is no where near complete, but hopefully with this blog i will give myself the motivation i need to complete it!

so lets get started...

first off is the first unit i completed for the army which are Flamers of Tzeentch..

i will be uploading more and more photos as i go along, usually with one unit at a time!

although these guys are complete, a lot of the work i will be putting up with still be in the 1st few stages of work, and without paint of them!
but by the end of the blog there will be a fully painted/fully converted army! =] =]

Love the screamers, makes me want to watch the Matrix, but you sir are a creative mastermind, I'm blown away with each model. It would be an honor to face your army on the table.

aww cheers man!, yeah the Screamers are by far my favorite in the army so far,
and yeah my mind just wanders constantly and sometimes comes up with wee ideas like this! lol
and if i ever play in your hobby store and you are there i will gladly accept that game haha! =]

Dunno bout niclebel, but I'd quite like a tutorial on doing the flamers! Cos I fully intend to steal the idea =P And I might be interested in the screamers, not sure yet (depends on whether I go for summoning them or not!)

the flamers couldn't be easier man, i just got the bloodletter models and cut the arm with the sword off at the elbow, i then glued an imperial guard flamer (with tank) onto the arm and green stuff the lines and using greenstuff to mould the flamer tank to their back... and done! haha

the screamers were a lot tougher.... i used the bodies of bloodletters (not adding the legs on) and pinned them to a flying stand with lots of wire in between the body and stand, i then used green stuff to make very thin tentacles (to give it some structure) then used a roll tool to sculpt more (thicker) tentacles round the sides..... the arms are just green stuff balls added onto the arm (where the sword should be) and sculpted into that sucker kinda shape!

thats bout it for a how to tbh... sadly i have no early stage photos of these models....

they were painted using a coat of black spray, then basecoated with Castellan Green with a heavy drybrush of death world forest then another dry brush (this time very light) of Elysian green then a thick wash of agrax earthshade!

so it appears i have no green stuff left, so sadly i cannot do any more this evening, should be able to get some more in the next few days, along with some milliput for a few scratch builds im working on! =P

also hopefully i will be able to pick up a few more bloodletters next week to start working on my plague drones which should be fun! =]

also going to start working more on my nurgle soul grinder!

weeks worth of work still to go all in, but thought id get everything so im ready to start when i want to haha! (i usually come up with ideas and start working at silly o'clock in the morning, so no where to go buy models haha!

Very impressive work! How exactly are you making the Worm / Tentacle / Hose parts? I love their look and can't imagine how to do it! They look awesome on the knight too! :)

This is phenomenal work and hugely inspirational. Well bloody done. I'm just about to start collecting a Nurgle Daemon army myself and you've really inspired me to do something similar, as I was struggling with putting Tzeentch units with it and staying fluffy. I particularly love the use of bloodletters and gas masks - how did you make the gas masks?

Hmmm... maybe I was looking at the models all wrong - I'm talking about the smooth featureless curve of the 'face' of them. To me, it looked like the intention was a sort of gas mask visor, with the tongue sticking out of the bottom

Whether that was the intent or not, I still love it - very thematic and daemon like.

Haha - that's brilliant. You can tell I obviously haven't actually started collecting daemons yet, so starting from scratch gives me a good opportunity to really start on a theme.

I think I'll borrow your idea but go with what I perceived as a gas mask, cut the tongue, and add a cylinder/filter - I think that would work as a creepy nurgle army - think: 'are you my mommy?'
