I have played 40K for close to.... a long time. I've been arond since 2nd edition and I think one of my favorite models and first IG models that I painted aside from Yarrick was the metal ogryn who is punching into the air, fist wrapped in chain. Despite five editions of guard codex worth of mediocrity, these beloved, lovable smelly dudes ar back and in a big way. Have you played any games this edition with them?

My favorite in game ogryn moment was in 4th edition, when my unit of five ogryn wacked a tyrant, taking only two wounds in response. I had a unit of them kill off a space marine captain and command squad in CC, causing my opponent to disproportionately target them and leave much of the rest of my army free to lascannon. lasgun and autocannon him back to the stone age.

Normally, they don't survive my battles, but when they do they do it in style.

I have 20 ogryn, plus a nork. I am presently waiting for some bullgryn with shields to arrive. I hope this edition to have nork whack either abbadon, logan grimnar or ghazkull in a game.

Got any ogryn stories of your own?

I have a squad of all five poses of the old metal Ogryns, with the goofy pull tab can grenades. They form the Brute Squad for my Steel Legion based Tank Police.

Way back in a Grand Tournament back in 3rd edition days my Tank Police was facing off against a Nurgle based Chaos Marine army. My Brute Squad rolled up in a Chimera, jumped out, blazed wildly with their Ripper Guns without doing much, then charged some Plague Marines. My opponend said that he wasn't worried because they're Toughness 5. I said I wasn't worried because my guys have Strength 6 attacks. They then proceeded to beat all six Plague Marines into paste in one round of combat.

The look on my opponent's face was priceless.

Had a squad of Ogryns with Lord Commissar ripping through my Ork horde, the only thing that stopped them was the whittling down (from the boyz they kept massacring) and a squad of 'Ard Nobz (upgraded unit of Nobz) with a Boss that crashed into them, the Commissar finally fell, and the unit crumbled, but it took 3 turns just for that to happen, i want to say that we played the game to turn 8 to see the combat end.
