WOOT!! Raging Heroes' "Toughest Girls in the Galaxy" pledge manager just dropped. So, now I have a question for the I-Guard goobs. What's a good troop complement for an I-Guard army? Right now I'm estimating the following:

HQ & command squad (10 models)
Regular Troops (60 models)
Veterans (30 models)
Special Units (i.e. Snipers) (18 models)
Sentinels (3 models)
Heavy Weapons Teams (6 multi-figure models)

Am I close - more or less of these?

Edit: Correction - I guess I should say, it "just dropped" four days ago. I don't check my e-mail regularly, so I only just noticed.

@necron2.0 your list looks fine but if you are going to play your TGG miniatures as Imperial Guard I would say that perhaps you have too many snipers. The sniper rules aren't very good in 40k.

You could always play the snipers as counts as ratlings, besides, one squad won't hurt.

I'll probably be copying this list though, doing the same thing, will be mixing some Catachan jungle fighters though, jailbirds kind of look like jungle fighters.

Oh, don't get me wrong. Snipers are nice to have (I have to give One shot Blondie some squad mates after all). I just never had much luck with snipers of any kind. I was planning on using the Lulus as Ratlings though.

I think snipers wouldn't be a bad option to have. Veterans plus some upgrades have gotten cheaper.

I still like platoons due to special weapons teams and heavy weapons teams.

Since in my opinion orders are better I would run a ground element. However uou still need vehicles which are more durable.

I favor Chimeria's over the new vehicle personally. Also running three psykers seem almost required now from what I'm hearing from the net.

I would say armoured sentinels would be a good ideal since they are much cheaper.

Mind if you show us links or pics of said models. Would also like to know if possible bit order is available.

Lulus as ratlings .... DOH!!

Actually, they wouldn't play with my army scheme. I went "Iron Empire," who will be proxies for Death Korp, of course. I largely kept with my original list, except I decreased the number of snipers and increased the number of Sentinels (i.e. "Mecha"). I also picked up a few units of Jailbirds to act as conscripts.

Although I hate the concept of Splat-books, I do hope GW comes out with a supplement for Astra Militarum that brings back penal legions. I've got a bunch of Vicky Lamb's penal guard conversions I'd like to use for that. It'd make my army into a true over-the-top militant feminist nightmare. :)
