Welcome back to the Studio Workshop!

I've had a couple of emails from BoLS people lately asking a bit about color theory, and I realized that I haven't posted this link to the BoLS forums yet. I figured that posting it now could be of some use to those who have been asking and anyone else who might be wondering about this topic. :D

Today we're talking about one of the most important, but misunderstood elements of painting a good looking miniature. That's right, it's time for some basic color theory. Keep in mind that this is very basic. In fact, as I understand it color theory is constantly going through tiny adjustments all the time in the academic art world as our understanding of how light and our human perception relate expands and grows more detailed. So this explanation is going to be incredibly simplistic for those who have a background in art.

Also, if you haven't seen this already check out: http://colorschemedesigner.com/ It's an incredible online color wheel tool that automatically shows you the options for complementary colors, triads, tetrads, analogous colors, etc. It's AMAZING!
