View Full Version : Force counts as it's own psychic discipile, so no free primaris for others?

RAW, Since Force is it's own Psychic discipline that all models with the Force ability automatically gain, does this automatically disqualify them from Psychic Focus since any other powers they choose will technically have spells from multiple disciplines (whatever they choose + Force?).

ie Eldrad's spear is Force, so he automatically has it. Even if he chooses all 4 regular powers from the Eldar book, he doesn't count as getting Psychic Focus bonus (ie Primaris - Guide - for free) since he technically has one power ("Force") from the Force discipline?

I don't think so, because Force is granted, rather than generated. To get the Primaris power for free, you just need to generate all your powers from the same disicipline.

No, it doesn't. The rules specifically say so, Force does not prevent you from getting psychic focus.

Yup. Just found it.

Pp23.

'For example, Stu has a psyker in his army with a Mastery Level of 2. That Psyker knows two psychic powers, which will need to be generated. Stu decides to generate both of his psychic powers from the same Discipline and so gains Psychic Focus, and thus that discipline's primaris power. Stu's Psyker is also equipped with a force weapon, granting him the Force psychic power (for a total of four powers)

Job's a good un right there.
