Best get yourself a copy of Stronghold Assault then. The rules now make reference to using Stronghold Assault and other publications datasheets.

What the hell? I purposely put off buying a copy of Stronghold Assault because all of the building rules were supposed to be rolled into the new 7th Edition rulebook! Now you are telling me that I have to fork over $33.00 for rules to continue using a terrain piece I had already been using for years? And this on top of the $85 for the new edition? I have so much nerd rage built up inside of me that I'm actually making one of those "Skreeeee!" sounds.

Where did you get the idea that all the building rules were "supposed" to be in the new rulebook?
You can still use it as a terrain piece, if you want to use it as a Fortification, you need the rules for it. And if you've been using it for years, then you bought it as a terrain piece anyway.

sounds cheeky but i guess it makes sence to have a book full of fortification instead of having them in the rule book as well as other books.

I believe his point is more that ADL, Bastions, skyshields and redemptions were already in the rulebook last time.

Rumours were saying escalation etc we're being rolled into the rule book.
But it could be either.

More relevant even...
Also no digital version of strong hold assault I believe... which puts a dent in my 'lets go digital' plan for at least the time being if I want to use the defence line

Yeah, who would assume since they are selling us a new basic rule book while the previous is still warm that it would actually include all the rules to play the game. It is almost as if they are breaking the rules up into more and more books to force you to buy them all to play the game. It is almost as if they insanely want to encourage piracy. But yes, it appears to use many of the models you already owned and purchased due to the 6th Edition rule book providing rules, must now require you to get another book just to get their perks. :D Or you can just write down those perks and not bother. One person who owns a book can tell you what the rules are.

A group getting together and pooling resources to buy books and supplements is a fine practise, RPG groups have been doing it for years

No now that's just your paranoid side talking the reason they want fortifications in its own book is because its all in one section also why would a company make a book for one only to make it irrelevant when another book comes out only some mouths after that's madness I had a word from one of my friends who does work in a GW shop saying in the 6th edition book it still counts as a data sheet for the relevant fortification.
I think there the same info for the ADL as the 6th edition rule book one but i dont own the strong hold assault book.
