Hello all, I'm a long time imperial guard player and I've finally decided to add some conscripts to my army. My models are vostroyan first born and so I thought that, since the first born are a bit elite and from a forge world (sorta), A workers militia type unit would make fitting conscripts. However, I'm having a hard time finding something suitable to represent them. Ideally I'm looking for minis (gw or other) that look like factory workers who have been handed lasguns and sent from the shop floor, to the front. Nothing too jacked or mutated, just some fairly average looking dudes. Does anyone have any suggestions on where to where I could find models like that, or a fairly simple conversion that would work? Thanks in advance!

I know someone who converted Chaos Cultists to look like Mechanicus foot sloggers.

Very neat. I was considering the cultists from Dark Vengeance if they aren't super mutated or covered in Chaos symbols, but I have not been able to see them up close yet.

A little bit of green stuff and some kit-bashing will set them straight for you.

Victoria lambs penal gaurd is a very, very expensive option full unit size. but that's a Vostroyan tradition after all :P

Dave Taylor did some as AdMec workers.

Another option is to use some basic WW2 troopers and paint there uniforms like jumpsuits. They don't have armor, or any sort scifi gear, so they look poorly equipped. and they are very cheap compared to GW.

I've been using some of those guys for a project. The basic shooting guys have no visible mutations, aside from one type that has 4 lenses in his gasmask. They all have a Chaos Star medallion, but most of those are positioned so you can scrape them off no problem, and two of the 4 types have raise Star scars which also scrape of easy. And you can get the models $10-$15 for a set on eBay.

how about Catachans? would be kind of a ragged band of workers, true, but hey we're the imperium here after all... who's to say every worker gets an intact jump suit? Although their muscled/rambo appearance does suggest some of the less-decrepit workers, which fits with Vostroyans to an extent...

I was going to suggest these guys myself. They could easily be big burly factory or mine workers and they have the right weapons already. Lack of helmets and disheveled appearance if from lack of training and discipline rather than being jungle fighting experts.

My mate did something like that for his Conscripts.

60 odd of the bleeders, each one converted up to be angry citizenry.

Wargame factory is making those "Apocalypse Survivors".

Seems to me that they could be great as imperial workers militia.
And they are cheap too (22$ for 30 minis).

I saw pictures a while back where somebody used the plastic Catachan models and painted their fatigues orange, like prison jumpsuits. Together with white t-shirts, it looked very much like a prison riot in progress!

I've used a few of them to make Servitors. Put a gun on instead of one of their arms and the old Space Marine head with the respirator. Turned out pretty good!

I've been using them for my Savlar Chem Dog army I'm working on. They convert up nicely.

Don't conscripts still have Flak armour though? I mean technically all you need is bare heads for Cadian troops and paint them in factory fatigue type colours.
