So one of our studio painters, after many months of hint dropping, has gotten a few of us playing malifaux, and I have to say i have rather enjoyed it so far, the quality of the new plastic miniatures is actually quite special, are very interesting to paint, especially for myself as they are generally far removed from my normal brush style.
Torn between a few of the factions I decided upon picking up Viktorias in the form of the hired swords started box, as well as an old metal version of taelor as it was the only model in the set I wasn't too keen on largely due to the pose.
First job for me is often basing, as I rather enjoy a good base to frame the miniatures with;

Ive gone for a badlands feel, and had a play with the fairly recently release GW technical agrellan earth paint, and found myself actually rather liking it.

The old taelor model got a few minor updates, mainly the derpy looking old hammer replaced with the head from the newer version, as well as the rather cool looking straps around her waste. All the models have been primed with tamiya fine white spray (thanks to Dave from hawk wargames for this hidden treasure) which has a ridiculously smooth coverage ideal for high standard paintwork.

Last up is a WiP of Viktoria of ash, the crews leader. The goal with the paintjob is to really push myself and learn as much as possible. So far she is mostly just basecoats at the moment, with the face almost finished and some extra work on the coat.
Comments and criticisms more than welcome.
