Hi guys,
Here's the final pictures of my recent commission for Sicarius from Big Dog Miniatures.

I'm always looking to improve my technique so any comments or critique would be welcome.

I've just been informed that posting a facebook link to images is a breach of social etiquette in some forums. I'm quite new here so if that's the case I just wanted to apologise in advance. I can't upload images from my mobile to this site so I'll try to post full pictures up when I get home.

As I understand it, it's okay to have the link, but you need to have a picture or three posted along with the link. No "just a redirect" posts.

No worries thebigdog.

Just add a handful of pics above the link to your site.

The Lounge is happy to allow tasteful self-promotion from the amazing painters out there. Just make sure to leave us some samples of your work to drool over. Here is a link of our policy for the full details: (http://www.lounge.belloflostsouls.net/showthread.php?35798-A-Note-About-Self-Promotion-EVERYONE-READ)

I'm looking forward to seeing your cool stuff!

The paint job is awesome, but for some reason the first picture in the set just feels too... happy... for a Space Marine in our grimdark setting hehehe..

He almost looks like he's smiling =)

Looks awesome, but the base seems far too plain for such a nice mini.

Thanks for the feedback guys.

Thaldin - maybe he gets a lot of job satisfaction slaying the heretic? :D I personally think he's smiling because he's taking the p15s out of me. First time I went to varnish him, I picked up white primer by accident instead of spray varnish. After the first spray I thought the varnish had frosted then realised exactly what I'd done. It took an hour long self directed RAGE RANT and a twin pack of Jaffa Cakes to get me to calm down. This is the mini after I tried to salvage the paint job. I guess he's got a reason to grin?

SquigBrain - y'know you're dead right. Most of the mini's I paint tend to be for the table and usually get a sand/gravel mix and a few patches of static grass added to break it up. In other words, they're funtional but basic. This one doesn't even have that. I could front it out and say I was keeping it simple so as not to take away from the detail of the mini but I'd be lying :D I think I probably missed it after stressing over the primer incident. You're right though, I should give basing more though, especially for character minis.

Sicarius has now moved to his new home but I'll bear your advice in mind for future projects (theres definately a few in the pipeline).
