View Full Version : Converted: Adeptus Mechanicus Imperial Knight

I decided to pick one of these up because I just love the model. I also will be starting a Mechanicus(counts as Tau maybe) army when I get a bit more of my Heresy era Deathguard done. I understand the fluff of the Knight houses, but I was kind of going for a more closely aligned Mechanicus Knight. In that viegn, I don't really like the rippy chainsaw of doom. I picture the Knight being at least a little more useful in other areas. So I tried to turn the ccw into a power lifter type claw.

Yeah, that powerlifter clamp looks great on the model. Personally I'd love to see the model weathered a bit, the hull pieces look squeaky clean. But hey, that's just a matter of taste.

Marvelous painting technique, I especially like the lenses; perhaps a tutorial if you're not too busy?

I'm pretty sure it involves a lot of saliva and wet blending. That's my technique. ^^

Is the claw based on the FW Sentinel power lifter (converted obviousl)?:

How did you make the powerclaw?

The claw was mostly styrene. I used a Silhouette Portrait scrapbook type vinyl cutter to cut most of it out.

I drew inspiration on the claw from a lot of sources. Aliens(a bit too clean), the sentinel, and real scissor claws. Just kind of worked some drawings until it looked like it might actually work. Had another version of it that was just too plain when I started painting it up and before I got the Silhouette Portrait to cut the styrene.
