Hey all,

So I picked up a forgeworld Imperial Lightning Fighter about 8 months ago now second hand, and with some recent Christmas Gift returns i'm looking to pick up three more so that I have a 'full flight' to run in Apoc games.

The only problem is, i'm not sure which Imperial Armour book I should pick up with them. I know for sure that there are 'Lightning' rules in IA1, IA:Apocalypse and IA:Apocalypse II. I have access to an IA1 already, but i'd like to know if there were any changes between the three books.

So yeah, base question is Did Any Changes between IA1 to IA: Apocalypse II for the Imperial Lightning Fighter?

Yes.

Yes the lightning in particular is updated in IA:2.The book is worth a look in any case imo, it's not massively expensive (for a forgeworld book) and it's got some interesting datasheets in (although a large number are reprints from other books which is slightly annoying if you've a shelf full of Vraks books!)

As a flyer, technically Lightning fighters are only allowed in Apocalypse games. as apocalypse games now have flyer rules which negate the Imperial armour Vol 1 book, then those stats are also assumed to be out of date.

I'v just remembered theres a free copy of the lightning rules available from the forgeworld website

go to http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/downloads40k.htm And download the Imperial armour Volume 1 Rules Update

It has a comprehensive list of nearly all Imperial guard vehicles, and is entirely compatible with the new imperial guard codex. (they are utterly up to date)
