Bought my first superheavy with the purchase of the knight. I have always been ok at painting but for something this expensive I have been watching tutorials and actually taking my time.

I have been combining layering, washes, and drybrushing and taking this thing one piece at a time.

Hoping this thread will help me stay on target.

Color scheme and overall feel of what this is going to look like

Base for my solo hunter.

Keep up the great work. I really like the base. Can't wait to see the rest of the project.

Were it up to me, I might add a couple of Greenstuff'd bubbles to break up the flat lava flow, which looks amazing btw.

I think the red is an amazing tint and rather khornish! Good Work!

Its purple washed with scab red and a gloss to bring out the purple layering. My camera doesnt give it justice.

Nearly done! Waiting for some impact looking missile explosions to hold the shield on, using sticky tack for now. I kind of like no decals, makes it look more like a loner.

Superb work. Lots of details and I love the standing on Lava rocks idea. Interesting take on a void shield. If I were to a make any suggestions (Which is not needed as overall it is a great model) I would use clear plastrux rods to support the void shield and coat the void shield field itself with 'Clear polarized transparent film' to give it a shimmering effect. Another possibility is to find mostly clear tinted lenses from old 'Elton John' style sunglasses as the lenses would be oddly huge. Trim the lenses as needed. (Just suggestions)

Yeah I was looking for ways to make this shimmer more. Thanks for the idea.
