So my nid list consisted of:
X2 Flyrant with TL Devourers.

I dont remember exactly what upgrades my opponent had and the number of the units but what I do know ill write down.
X2 commanders
A unit I think of 15 sniper drones
2 units of kroot
1 unit of broadsides
2 riptides
An ethereal
As to farsight enclaves he had:
A commander with 3 crisis suits and a riptide with an option of denying the witch on 4D6 not aure if the ethereal was of farsight enclaves or not but it was with this riptide. All the riptides had fusion blasters.
We didnt have nightfighting and I let him start first turn and didnt try to seize the initiative as I was confident of my adl with venomthropes cover and also had a ruin on the right flank in my deployment zone, 2+ cover all round so I was happy. As most of u are probably asking, where are the tgants? Where are the zoanthropes?
The idea was that I want a list that moves up all together and strikes at once without wasting pts on stuff for my backfield, I want to give my opponent so much target saturation he cant possibly kill everything and want to be in combat by turn 2/3. Now genestealers are the only unit that dnt need synaose, so their use is to try and keep my deployment objective. Staying in the ruins, out of LoS by putting my objective in the best place strategically for them to defend. With all those units in my enemys face by turn 2 I doubt hed wanna think abtthe genestealers, Iif he does try to contest it, im not rly bothered as im morefocussed on taking his and any other objective. The trygon prime is our toughest synapse creature and the only mc that can keep up with my fmcs, adds another bubble to my synapse web and is truly there as an expensive distraction unit. Turn 2 its in my opponents face, my most important turn, does he use interceptor and try kill the trygon prime, or keep his shots fr my fmcs? In his turn 3 does he fire on the try prime, fmcs or the poisoned hgaunts that can eat up his riptides? U shoot at the fmcs and I still have a ws5 s6 t6 w6 a7/(smash) fearless, fleeting mc in his face.
I deployed everything behind ADL except fr genestealers and prime. Deployment was dawn of war and we had 2 objectives and the relic in the middle.
Tau turn 1
Fires sniper drones at my warlord flyrant, gets 2 rending and 3 wounds, I save them all on 2+ cover saves, broadsides fire at a unit of venomthropes and kills them with his no cover save weapon. Fires 2 riptides at my crone, giving it 2 wounds, he failed 1 nova roll on a 1 on 1 of the riptides, the other riptide cant see it due to blocking terrain and fires at my warlord giving it 1 wound. He moved the farsight commander withe crisis suits up the table and took the relic.End of turn 1.
My turn 1
Everything moves forward at once, venomthrope is next to warlord and crone with 2 wounds, every fmc touches a piece of terrain to add cover, and is halfway up the table. 2 hgaunt unit run 7" whike the unit in the middle run 9" so everthing is sort of in a line ready to try assault next turn. Warlord fires at sniper drones and kills 5 while the other flyrant fies at broadside killing 1. Catalyst was cast on warlord and injured crone, paroxysm failed and my flyrant gt a wound also cast dominion on 1 flyrant just in case.
Tau turn 2
This was the make or break turn.He outflanked a unit of kroot on the side where my objectjve was. He unloaded sniper drones and kroot on my injured crone causing 5 wounds in total bht I save 3 with fnp, he fired 2 broadsides on another crone and killed it outright, with the other riptide on my left flank he shot at my flyrant but my 4+ cover save saved me, passed grounding test. The 2 broadsides fired at the only veonthrope left and killed it before firing at the flyrant by the way. His icarus cannon was being fired with the sniper drone unit as his spotter was firing it, he caused a wound on the crone that they fired at, but I saved it with fnp.
My turn 2
Prime came out in cover right outside his right flank in front of his adl,he fired with I thiiink fusion blaster from 3 riptides on him, giving him 3 wounds(which is what I wanted him to do, thats taking shots off all my fmcs, if he survives, which he did, all the better) while the genes came from reserves outside LoS of his outflanking kroot behind ruins. One unit of hgaunts got ready toassault his crisis suits with commander on relic, warlord glided down in charge range of the same unit. The crone on the last wound v.striked his drones, the hgaunt unit in the middle gt ready to assault kroot in the middle inside forest. The other crone gt ready to assault his broadsides the other flyrant flew to his table edge and fired at the riptide with the ethereal and missile drone getting ready to assault them next turn whike ther unit of hgaunts assaulted the other riptide on my right flank. The injured crone and trygon prime shot at/drooled on the drones, leaving 2 left with a commander, the crone drooled on the broadsides, hitting a few kroot too, the flyrant fired on the riptide giving it 2 wounds, the hgaunts in combat with the riptide killed it outright (hgaunts with poisoned are the bane of wraithknights and riptides!!) Warlord and hgaunts assaulted farsight commander, tyrant offered challenge, killed him outright, hgaunts killed the crisis suits, hgaunts failed to assault kroots (yes, even with fleet :() crone assaulted broadsides, they were wiped out. Genestealers took better cover in the ruins.
Tau turn 3
Devstating turn 2 for me as planned.
1 commander left drone unit and joined kroot, his riptide on my left flank assaulted the hgaunts with relic after firing at them, he novad for the 3+invul save, the riptide with ethereal fired at my warlord on ground after the combat, killing him, 2 drones and kroot fired at the failed charge hgaunts, killing half. His outflanking 20 I think strong kroot fired everything at the genestealers but cud only kill a max of 2 as he cudnt see the rest ( got a 2" for move through cover) he killed 1 :D
My turn 3
Quite simple really. Injured crone drooled on the last 2 sniper drones, the hgaunts that killed the 1st riptide assaulted with my flyrant the unit of riptide, ethereal and missile drone, the other crone drooled on the kroot on his objective and the prime assaulted the riptide in combat with the relic hgaunts. Hgaunts and flyrant killed the ethereal, missile drone and riptide. Hgaunts assaulted the kroot leaving 1 left +commander prime got all his 5 smash attacks home but he saved them all with the 3+invul save, hgaunts did nothing to him either.genestealers moved behind ruins out of kroot LoS but still taking objective within 3".
Tau turn 4.
He moved through cover 3" and cudnt see the genstelers taking the objective.kroot and commander left 2 hgaunts left.failed his nova fr 3+invul on last riptide.
My turn 4.
Turned 1 crone back to drool on kroot attempting to tke my objective, killed 4. Injured crone assaulted the kroot and commander, prime downed the riptide, commander and kroot died and riptide too. Game called and all he had left was half a unit of kroot.
He had first blood, slay the warlord and linebreaker. I had linebreaker, the relic was 6 victory pts, my objective and his,+2victory pts fr ethereal.
Conclusion:
Reaaallly like the psychological effect of the prime!!! It puts pressure on ur opponent and itsbgreat bait, as soon as he hears its a synoase creature, can get p.enemy if I get to do 1 wound, has 5 smash attacks, it takes sooo much heat off ur fmcs and hgaunts. Very gd distraction unit, H2H champion, very tough synapse creature and its shots are a good bonus if u pick the right targets and dnt frget the potential in getting orecision shots and offering challenges since hes a character!
Hormagaunts....hormagaunts on there own have fllet, movethrough cover, 3 attacks on charge can move up to 15" fr 5pts is really really gd if u want to play a very fast army with flying circus. But give them poisoned and oooooh my!!! Wraithknight problem? Riptide problem? Anything, a
ANYTHING with a toughness value u can say ba-bye to with the boys, absolutely best unit for points cost in this book!!!!
Crones, every1 gets crones fr their tentaclids and if they can, their v.strike, which granted are very very good (however it has happened against other armies were I roll 4 dice to hit a helldrake with 2 missikes and I fail all of them, but anyway), the drool cannon might not be torrent and not ap3 like the keldrake but dnt frget, eldar, necrons and mst troops have a 4+ save or less and since ud want these boys to get into combat after u pop a tank or serpant or troops if theyre weak troops, u want to get these boys up close and personal so the lack of torrent isnt as bad if u knw hw to use them, if u get onslaught on these boys, even better!!
