Think its possible to have 8 dreadnoughts

If your primary detachment has a Master of the Forge and your allie detachment takes a master of the forge would you be able to have 8 dreadnoughts?

If i ever wanted the Impirial Knights i would take this and 3 impirial knights :D

depends on points limit and you still need scoring bodies for your army and depending on type and armourment dreads can get to 150-180 pts range easily and thats with out drop pods so you have to consider what you are bringing in to support them.

Sure, you could have 8 Dreads. Put them all in Drop Pods, equip them with as much close-combat stuff as possible, plus a few flamers maybe to keep them relatively cheap.

Fill the rest of your army with Scouts with camo cloaks and sniper rifles and missile launchers.

Start dropping things in all over the place and watch as your opponent struggles to bring enough high str shootyness to deal with it. If you go with Ironclad, then the opponent would have to have str 7 weapons to deal with your front armor, which means pretty much every army is reduced to glancing you at best.

Also take iron hand chapter tactics and everyone but 2 dreadnoughts and a master of the forge will have it will not die
