Ok so I have Escalation and I play Space Marines but our only model we can use is the god forsaken 399 finecast model known as a thunderhawk gunship. Now I have a idea but not sure if it will work but judging by the picture using 3 Stormraven gunship's also a Land Raider as parts with some green stuff and cutting would it be possible to make a thunderhawk gunship provided it follows the wargear of the aircraft and the size?

I've seen one made using a core of foam block, plus lots of plasticard and patience. Of course it didn't look as nice as a forgeworld one but it was a couple hundred dollars cheaper.

Problem with that I would not be able to use it in a GW store but I found a loophole as long as it is made from there kits i am allowed to use it mostly because there not allowed to promote stuff they don't sell and such but if I made it out of kits they sold then I can bypass that rule :P

would a Typhon be Escalation legal? It's not in ForgeWorld's pdf, but in IA2 it's got a Lord of War stamp, so go figure...
if noone has an answer to that I'll probably just EMail ForgeWorld tomorrow...
should it be legal it would be a pretty good choice for a Marine army methinks... cheap points-wise (Knight level cheap... those would be your other option should the Thunderhawk not pan out the way you want it to), almost likewise so cash wise (at least by FW SuperHeavy standards... it's below 100 pounds at least!) and with that 7inch S10Ap1 Ignores Cover blast it's something of a beast rules wise as well...

Horus heresy lords of wars are a different thing from Escalation ones. As such the answer will generally be a no, you can only use lords of war listed in escalation or the forge world PDF.

The Independent Characters did a great episode about "extreme Forgeworld modeling," which goes into how to make the most of Forgeworld's beautiful but finicky kits. If you're going to go through the expense of buying 3 stormravens and a land raider and the effort of converting them into a single flying lobstrocity, you might try going through the effort and expense of setting yourself up to do a thunderhawk, and do it properly.

Check it out (http://theindependentcharacters.com/blog/?p=3441).

Its been my experience with GW stores as long as its a model scratch built by you with a majority of FW or GW bits then you should be fine.
I have never had a complaint about any of my scratch builds. If you look around Eli Patorach has an amazing paper plan for a FW thunderhawk you could easily convert to plasticard or a combination plasticard and foam-core design.

The Thunderhawk Gunship is not finecast, never was, probably won't be. FW resin while in some passing bears a similiarity to GW stop gap finecsat product the community seems to suggest that it has much less bubbles and flaws.

Tempest? What? oh that puny and arguably crappy Land Speeder variant? nah I'm talking about the Typhon Heavy Siege Tank - basically a Vindicator on steroids...

I'm not talking about HH - as I said, the rules are in IA2 2nd Ed.

You only need 2 Stormravens. And http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/armySubUnitCats.jsp?catId=cat440335a&rootCatGameStyle=wh40k has lots of weapons packs that probably reduce the need to buy the Land Raider.

That is the most AWESOME conversion guide I have read in a long time.

This just jumped to the top of my to do list, Chaos and Loyalist Thunderhawks for a fraction of the cost. **** YEAH!!

Yeah, if I collected Space Marines more I'd have made one of these by now. Even though I don't, it's very tempting...

That is a truly brilliant conversion guide. Wish White Dwarf would show those sort of guides again.

I've seen plenty of home projects displayed in stores on the net.

Maybe that's your local stores policy.

Any Here's a link to my scratch thread, I'm about to resume the building on my scratch T'hawk.
