Thanks for this series (this is the third I've watched, after the rubble and alien bases, and all have been helpful) - in particular this one, because it's the issue of attaching miniatures to the base that largely stops me from doing anything too ambitious with my bases.

I usually glue the miniature on at the assembly stage, add sand, then prime. I guess I could add more decoration, but I'll probably have to save it for a Kill Team/Necromunda gang now, as I'm not rebasing the rest of my army...

These are good, but what about epoxy? Has some gives, sets up tacky in a few minutes and is virtually indestructible. Hot glue can shatter or give, superglue has poor tensile strength, but nothing breaks epoxy.
