Well this is my chapter so far, it's only a tactical and Terminator squad at the minute with a dreadnought which is very much a WIP and two more tactical squads waiting in the wings. So feel free to let me know what you think.

This is my chapter captain, I originally converted him to be an Orrus in a Necromunda gang but liked the scaled look to his plating so I drafted him into the ranks.

Love the captain. That's some really nice scaly armour you've got going on. Look forward to seeing some more pics.

yeah the captains great, i also like what you did with the tac marines helmet lenses. Turning them in to one is a nice way to avoid dealing with pesky eyes, gives you a unique look and the paint on them is spot on..nicely done

I did post more pictures but it popped up that a mod had to look them over for some reason. If they're not on by tomorrow I'll repost them.
Thanks for the C&C by the way.

Nice work, I love the conversion.

Keep up the good work, I can't wait to see more pics.

I dig that banner. It is simple but still has enough to look great without being overly complex.

AHHHH, to heck with a potential double post, here are some terminators for you to have a look at.

Well that's all so far, I've nearly finished another Tactical squad, but I've changed the green to a darker custom mix and I've changed the colour of the bases, but you'll have to wait for those......

Again thanks for your kinds words.

Very scary eyes. nice to see a pre heresy helm of the terminator.

really like the captain (got to love those spikes on the arms) and the power sword on the terminators.

Isn't it a helm form a grey knight model, correct me if I'm wrong, but I swear they all have the four "dots" in the corner

You can convert the normal helms to the pre heresy.

That's the tutorial I used, but it was intended as a Grey Knight style. I didn't realise it looked pre-heresy.

I understand your confusion.

This was the best guide to terminator armour I've seen. He does make some stuff up, but also has sources for his info on the various marks:

http://www.the-vanus-temple.com/?page_id=942

Heresy era termies have a knight-style flange/gorget attached to their chest plate and a dome helmet behind it (like the MKIV dreadnaughts). These have only appeared in art work form. The Horus Heresy card game depicts many of these.

http://www.the-vanus-temple.com/?page_id=955

The knight helm is originally from either the Black Templars (at least for normal power armour) and/or the (new) Grey Knights. Since both these are post-heresy, they may have developed the style themselves (given the fluff on their formations and heavy stylisation this would fit - but may well be wrong. It will be intersting to see where the community and GW take the history of this armour, given that it is already getting called pre-heresy).

All that blah-blah-blah aside, I like the look, though I'd trim the helm back further, tapering it at the kneck more like the more heavilly stylised and close fitting Grey Knight helm. This may require rebuilding the collar of the armour to match. Might do this on one or two of my next lot of terminators.

This is the new look that all future Dragons will be sporting, it's a much darker green that I mixed up myself. I think it makes them look a lot meaner being darker than the first squad.

I know about the smudge on the left leg, I only noticed it after I uploaded the picture.

What color paints did you use for the term power sword? I like that the best.

A basecoat of Shining Gold, with a heavy wash of Baal Red. Highlight with Shining gold again, then a wash of Gryphonne Sepia but keeping to the gold more than the red but allowing it to blend a little.
Hope that's helpful.
