Hi guys,

First post on BOLS! I am thinking of getting a Chaos Daemons army, to build on the daemonic allies for myChaos Space Marines. I have been playing around with lists, and this one seems to work for me. Mix of shooty and stabby that should be able to cause trouble for most other players. The aim is to play tactically with some nice synergies, rather than a pure fluff list.

It would be great to get your comment and suggestions before I start shelling out the cash to get the army. Thanks in advance.

Chaos Daemons 1750 pts

Lord of Change, Psyker Level 3, 2 Greater Rewards, 1 Lesser (staff of change)

Herald of Tzeentch, Disc, Psyker Level 2, Grimoire of True Names

Herald of Tzeentch, Psyker Level 2, Locus of Conjuration

Herald of Nurgle, Lesser Gift (etherblade), Locus of Fecundity

Daemonettes (x10), Alluress, Lesser Gift (etherblade)

Pink Horrors (x10), Instrument, Iridescent Horror

Pink Horrors (x10)

Plaguebearers (x10), Plagueridden, Instrument

Plague Drones (x3), Plagueridden, Icon, Deaths Heads

Flesh Hounds (x5)

Screamers (x6)

Daemon Prince, Tzeentch, Psyker Level 2 (biomancy), Wings, Armour

Aegis Defence Line + Comms Relay

The idea is start the basic horrors and fast / flying stuff on the board in cover. Advance up for turn 2 assault and deep strike, giving the opponent multiple threats to deal with simultaneously. The lord of change and heralds blast away at the enemy before the assault units tear up the enemy in close combat.

Let me know what you reckon!

Cheers,

HQ: Love the LoC. I would ditch the HoN and upgrade the HoTs to level 3.

Troops: Fine. The daemonettes are deadly and fragile so I don't think the aetherblade will see action but you could use the grimoire here. Irridescent horrors are great so take one in each unit to put the flickering fire through and get to allocate hits of a 6 as it is a character.

Fast: Good. Swap out the Death Heads on the drones for 3+ poison and give the unit character an aetherblade as he will keep the poison with it. A few more hounds would be useful.

Heavy: OK but no greater rewards and they are usually protective in nature. Could use some of the HoN points here.

Fortification: I wouldn't deepstrikle that many units in this list so the coms relay isn't needed. Any deepstrikers I would prefer they diddn't arrive for a while to let me engage then drop in the PBs etc to grab an enemy objective. The aegis line is ok to hide horrors behind.
