With the leaked pictures floating around a little obvious discussion came up in our group:
the side note of the knight paladin states that up to 6 knights can be fielded as a primary detachment.

So the army list:
2 knight errants and
2 knight paladins
come out at 1490pts.

is this the new tank company of 6th ed.?
Whould this list be any good?
Would such a list be too good?

6high strengh pie plates.
24 hullpoints total.
melee all D weapons.
4models
being shot from all sides but having this ion shield on one side...

any thoughts?

The trouble with this conversation is that there are a lot of things we don't understand yet. Do knights claim objectives, or do they have to win by clearing the opponent? Are there further upgrades that the knights might be able to throw five, ten, fifteen points at? Do you have to declare one of your knights the warlord, and does it get warlord traits?

That said.

The biggest problem this list faces is lack of firepower. Weird, I know, but with only six large blasts per turn and a bunch of stubbers, are only a few bad scatters - or smart positioning - away from your only powerful weapons doing nothing. Personally, at 1500 points, I'd go 3 paladins and 1 errant. Paladins are better all-around models, because they get two blasts, and although their blasts are lower Strength and lack the Melta rule, they do have Ordnance, and that means that they stand a good chance of popping most vehicles. They'll struggle against AV 14, but how much AV 14 do you see at 1500 points these days? That gives you more shots - 7 large blasts, 21 stubber shots - which is what you want when your model count is so low compared to your opponent.

After that... it's a matter of luck, really. Don't let hammernators get into melee with you, pray for good fortune on the scatter dice, and you'll do fine.
