reserving forces, how much is too much?

With most of my armies I have quite a bit of flexibility if I want. Against medium and short cc armies I understand that outflanking is not such an advantage.

But I am wondering amongst the community what volume of reserve/outflank/deep strike is too much in a typical non flier/drop pod army?

I like to have at least 2 Outflank or Deep Strike or Flyer deployed options, 1 is usually easy enough to react to and more than 3 or 4 is potentially harder to deploy.
