Vehicle Squadron and First Blood

Just curious, if my opponent has a squadron of vehicles, would I have to destroy the entire squadron to claim first blood or just a single vehicle.

Last night I came up against an IA Armoured Company list containing a pair of Leman Russ squadrons. I managed to destroy a single Russ from one of the squadrons and we weren't sure if I had first blood or not.

The whole unit is needed. If you play against it again pop one of the chimeras for first blood.

another classic example of green wombles joined up rules writing... a 35 pt rhino ...1st blood, a 50pt orcz kamikaze waggon ... 1st blood... 3 carnifexes... oh well... :eek:

You are so right Dave. Hate to loose that when my enemy destroyes my immobilized drop pod that has no major strategic value after landing and deploying my unit. First blood should be as it says first BLOOD. You should only get that from enemy scoring units. Other units are there just to support them. Scoring units count. This would make scoring units count for something in "Purge The Alien" and other "kill untis to get points" missions.

Actually after giving this some thought I´m going to recomend this as our new house rule for our game crew.
