Hey guys, I painted this Librarian who will be going to the local store to help start a small demo army. He needs a Chapter so I've taken to the internet for you all to help decide what chapter he is from!

With that blue all over and black shoulder pads, he's probably from an Ultramarines successor (well, let's face it - who isn't?). I don't think there's a cannon chapter with those colors, though. I'd say just put something cool on the shoulder pad and make up your own chapter.

Well traditionally Librarians have Blue armour and their chapter is denoted by the shoulder pads. :) If I remember my codex astartes correctly though! It's been awhile! haha

I thought about doing my own scheme on it, but I wanted it to be recognizable as an established chapter. :)

The way it's usually done is blue armor and shoulder pads, except for the left arm and shoulder pad, both of which are done in the chapter's colors.

Originally I intended him to be a Deathwatch Librarian, but the thought of NMM arm and shoulder drove me mad haha

Black shoulder pads reminds me of either Scythes of the Emperor, the new SM codex also has Hammers of Dorn or Sons of Dorn, can't remember, or the Mortifactors.

Also, traditionally, Deathwatch Librarians have the all-black armor as well.

Cream centre on shoulder pad should stand out with the black trim and red robes will tie it in with the rest of the army... I think.

If your intent is to paint up the shoulder pads with a chapter specific colour, I suggest going the hipster route and choosing a chapter nobody plays! That's why I'm nominating the Metamarines (http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Metamarines#.UvOe-7uPKUk)!

You can't get a sense that this is war being played out on a galactic scale if there are 80,000 Ultramarines running around the place. (Says the Dark Angels player...) So why not show the less seen combats by giving a voice to one of the lesser known chapters?

If you aren't painting them up and going with a black motif then someone suggested Scythes of the Emperor, and I think that would be awesome too!
