Afternoon!

Feeling the shadow of the culture vulture upon me of late, I have started looking into the odd museums that exist.

Why museums? I dunno. I just really like them. Part of it is the (hopefully) peace and quiet, and another part is that my dearly departed paternal Grandparents would take us to museums!

Found this (http://www.telegraph.co.uk/travel/destinations/europe/uk/london/9312875/Londons-most-unusual-museums-50-of-the-best-part-one.html) and it's certainly a good starting place...

Any other recommendations for odd museums?

I'm sure that there was an icelandic museum that was perverse.

The Amsterdam sex museum is meant to be fun.
The pencil museum in Kendal is kinda interesting to go round once.
But it bothered me that the worlds biggest pencil is a crayon not a pencil iirc

I had a look round the pencil museum, but I couldn't see the point

They do need to sharpen up the way they present the exhibits.

While not strictly speaking a museum the RC Chaple Sedlec Ossuary is certainly worth a look, just in the Czech Rep.

Why do you want odd? And what are your parameters for odd?

Doesn't pretty much every European city have a Medieval Torture Museum?

Out here in the States we have a Creation "Science" Museum.

Because odd is fun and educational, and I am a collector of utterly useless knowledge!

And EP.....Creation Science cracks me up.

The Cambridge Folk Museum is pretty good. The only real unusual thing is that it's in this AMAZINGLY RICKETY BUILDING. Like you wouldn't believe.

Wonder if they still have the polar bear?
