I started building Tyranids on January 11th when the Codex dropped.

3 weeks progress: 252 Complete, 68 models to go! Then it's time for the airbrush!!

Holy Crap. (Looks at three boxes of Fire Warriors unopened, collecting dust) I suddenly feel ridiculously lazy.

Are they all spaced 2" apart? Interesting to see how much board control that is.

I work in stages:
Unbox a complete Brood (30-85 models)
Cut out and separate all of the parts into groups
Trim excess and flash
Assemble everything in stages - Assembly line style
Lightly glue to temporary bases for painting.

Building all of the small and medium based models before moving on to the pile of large and oval based models.

85 Termagants, 50 Hormagaunts, 30 Devilgants, 40 Genestealers, 2 Broodlords, 4 Venomthropes, 3 Zoanthropes and 3 Hive Guard - All primed and basecoated...

I painted 3 Hormagaunts last night with the same base color (medium Grey) and each with a different armor color (Black, Red, Green), then dipped them all in Ebony (Black) minwax. So far - I like the Grey/Black they best. I hit them with clear late last night - I'll add details (muscles, teeth, tongue) tonight before making the final call on which way to go with the whole army.

I finally finished rebuilding my weight room and can get back to the Hive Fleet.

Final scheme along with the Secret Weapon Miniature bases.
