View Full Version : Ultramarines arming for war - Guilliman lives

Having done lots of crazy armies I thought I'd go as vanilla as possible for my next one and see if I could still make it interesting. Hence, Ultramarines.

I'm going to do them arming up on their ship rather than in battle poses. Might look odd in game but 95% of the time is spent on the shelf so I am OK with that.

Here is the Primarch (he err.. just spontaneously woke up cos I said so) giving a speech before going into battle. If I get time I may complete a scenic base forgeworld style to complete that walkway.

I was going to say something slightly snarky about the theme of "we aren't fighting we're getting ready to fight" theme you've got going on, and the Ultramarines, and how they are pretty rather than effective... but I changed my mind. It's actually kind of neat. And the paint job itself is amazing.

What a great idea and so well executed too. Looking forward to seeing how this army progresses.

Honor and Courage! The first of the Primarchs Awakens...I knew He would when I saw His wounds healing, even in his Stasis Field! Hope His brother, Russ, reappears from his Quest in the Warp and we see the Wolves as We know the 13th Company, Lost for 10,000 Years in the Warp with Him, has returned to Fenris!! WONDERFUL Job and GREAT depiction of the Son of Ultramar!!

what was used for the statue? was it sculpted or bought....regardless it looks interesting

Statue is from the cauldron of blood.

Scavenging enough non-action parts and coming up with interesting poses is more challenging than I thought so progress is slow.

For now here are a couple more conversions:

A sergeant with Combi-melta and Tigurius meditating. I've tried to keep elements from the original Tigurius model in my version.

Centurions are awsome conversions!!!Like the painting

Not felt like painting lately.

Here are some more WIP conversions:

The greatswords instead of hammers aren't quite WYSIWYG but not too bad.

The sandwich didn't show up in the picture as I've made it out of black plasticard but it's there. Even space marines need to eat.

Always liked this model but hard to find a use for a power armoured dude with a thunder hammer. Quite pleased with the eagle bike too.

The crest on the helmet needs a bit pf work but otherwise almost there.

Where's the horned skull shoulderpad on Tigurius from?

isotope99

Shoulderpad is from the plastic librarian which is the base model.

Like others, I have been distracted by the lure of the new knights:

Ohh I love your Knight, especially all the detail you've packed in under the hood. Where does that big ammo belt being loaded into the right arm cannon hopper come from though?

Wasn't Invictus the name of the Warlord Titan in the Space Marine game?

Other than that, everything there looks awesome. I especially like the bike (ravenwing bike?).

Very impressed by all of the designs. You're making some great choices, and all of the conversions look very very clean and make mechanical/logical sense.

I do not recognize the hand that the Titan is using to hold the Techpriest. Is it a 40k model?

Sick conversion on that Knight, love it!

Ammo belt is from the stompa.

Hand is converted from the melta cannon, space marine legs, dreadnought toes and the chainsword shortened as a chainfist attachment

Bit behind on my painting still got the terminators to work through.
