FUTURE-TECH: Get Your Video-Game Off My Table!

So a reader pointed me to this bit of technology craziness, from Siggraph 2009 a couple of months ago. What we have here are some UI design guys, trying to merge VR headsets with real-world toys to allow "virtual video games" that tie into real world objects. As wargamers, we can obviously see where this could take us in 10 years or so. ~I'm interested in your thoughts on this diretion in gaming. Are you guys playing the game due a deliberate enjoyment of the "old school"...
