I have painted thousands of miniatures over the years, most of them Citadel, but lately I've noticed a trend for really thin plastics, which technically is great, the level of detail is excellent and so on, but it makes the components vulnerable to snapping and impossible to repair.

Question - should a gaming piece be more robust? For example, the whips on the new Dark Elf Sisters of Slaughter and Kharibdis handlers. Lovely to look at, but very impractical!

And no, I'm not heavy handed.......

You think that's worse than the old thin metal pieces? You can't glue metal Grey Knight halberds back on once they've broken off, and they will break off. You can glue plastic ones back on.
