Hello everyone, I was wondering what the consensus is about Nova powers.....they are Witchfires that 'automatically target and hit every enemy unit in range...'.

Does this mean that every unit targeted gets to Deny The Witch to see if they get to ignore it? Or is it more like a beam, where the first unit hit with it (ie. the closest) gets to DTW?

Furthermore, vs Grey Knights w Reinforced Aegis Dreadnoughts, if there is one in range that's 'automatically targeted and hit', does the Aegis come into play if say a Henchman squad is the closest unit? That's more of a psychic test question I guess for Novas, but similary involves that range auto-target/auto-hit thing.

Thanks in advance for any thoughts!

For Deny the Witch, I would have to double check, but I believe it's always a unit-by-unit basis (even for beams, just that for some reason Jaws works differently according to the SW FAQ). Each unit rolls, and only ignores the power themselves if they make their own personal DtW.

Reinforced Aegis has nothing to do with who is the closest unit. If there's a GK unit with the Aegis in your Nova range, you're at -1Ld. If there's a unit benefiting from Reinforced Aegis, then you're at -4Ld. Simple as that.

Deny the Witch specifies that if nullifies the power "on that unit," so it doesn't cancel the power generally, and every unit must roll separately.
