Hey everyone! I was wondering if anybody has ever converted this or have any tips for me in how to turn a chaos terminator into an Obliterator. I want to learn this because honestly $22.00 is a little much and one of my friends said that he saw some pretty sweet conversions. It just so happens that I have a box of terminators i havent gotten around to building and this sounds like an awesome money saving idea and I can throw a couple more awesome heavy choices onto the board.
Thank you for your help :)

Since I wrote the article at the link (http://www.belloflostsouls.net/2009/07/40k-hobby-chaos-obliterators-by.html) provided above by "Just_Me", I also completed painting the second squad that is shown unpainted in that article. Here's a photo:

Thanks and glad I could help. By the way, after I built the eye-for-a-head Obliterator a while back and showed it to Dave Taylor, he suggested I paint it the same as his Creepy Little Guy's eye-for-a-head to make it seem as if they're brothers. When I finally got around to painting the model several weeks ago I looked at the color scheme on Dave's website (http://davetaylorminiatures.blogspot.com/2009/06/creepy-little-guys.html)for reference.
I have a gallery now on dakkadakka (http://www.dakkadakka.com/gallery/user/13937-BrassScorpion.html). It's small, but if you want to see some pics of a few of my other projects, feel free to check it out.

OK here go's my update on the converting... unfortunately as you can see I don't have pictures and that is simply because: I didn't read the article because the instant I saw those pics I just had to make them, I splashed green stuff all willy nilly and pretty much ruined it off the bat, and finally, I tried to make my first one out of a reject terminator (one that I was experimenting with before and already had weapons and was just a straight termi) And so...
Thank you very much! After I read the article I realized what an idiot I was, the way the flesh just molds around the joints and weapons was the main problem I had, I am going to give it another go and this time I plan to make it work with a fresh model, scenic basing, and chaos mutations.
Brass Scorpion, You are an awesome help in this whole thing and I thank you for saving me the $$$ the article and those obliterators are awesome

First, great screen name, Chaos. ;)
Second, you are most welcome for the assistance. Any time.
Third, hang in there and keep trying till you get it the way you want. Green stuff thankfully has a long set time so you can usually push it around and resculpt it for a couple hours if it doesn't turn out exactly how you want to start with. Balancing how much to use is an issue, too much and they just look like Terminators, too much and you lose all the great detail already on the plastic model parts. I tried to use just enough to make them look bulkier than Terminators and cover any joins I wanted to conceal. I also wanted to convey the idea of shape-shifting like the GW metal Obliterators.
Finally, glad you enjoyed my work. Thanks for the kind words. Be sure and post some pictures for us when you're happy with your final product. We'd like to check out the work if you want to show it off a bit.
