105th Cadian Infantry - His will, our guts!

This is a photo log of my Imperial Guard regiment, the 105th Cadian. It will also feature support elements from a few other regiments.

To start off, here's Commissar McKiernan proselytizing to the troops.

It's a fairly basic paint, ink, extreme highlight job. That's my general style. It's simple, fast, and it looks good on the table top.

You'll notice throughout this series that I name all my Guardsmen. They're soldiers, and soldiers have names.

Nice first model. I do know where you are coming from with the names, but from experience the models tend to look a lot cleaner with painted base trims. If you really wish to name your force why not consider creating an "Army Roster", in the same vein as an organisational chart, that will detail the name of each of your men but keep your models clean?

I considered that, but having to refer back to a roster would slow down the drama. I enjoy holding up a dead model so my opponent can see the name and crying out, "You killed Private Williams! You *******!" My friends get a kick out of it, and so do I.

Personally, however, i'd write them underneath the bases - that way i could have my cake and eat it too.
