I've had my color scheme for my IG pretty well laid out, at least for my Cadian models, for quite some time. The fatigues are a camo of greens, but I'd never figured out the armor.

I've been doing a test pattern on a Stormtrooper (Kasrkin) model, and I used snakebite leather for the armor plates and all the leather gear (straps, boots, gloves). Has anyone seen, or painted themselves, cadians with leather-like armor plating? I'm wondering how it might look over all. It's very heavy on the browns, but it looks good so far.

Here's a couple of shots of one of my older test schemes (the Void 1.1 mini) and a Kasrkin I painted up this evening. I like the overall scheme now that he's complete. The last pic is that of a Reaper mini painted up for a contest, but using the same scheme. The Void minis along with the Reaper girl will be my Conscript unit.

She was done mainly for a competition to paint a Reaper Mini. I was in the mode to paint my unit, and so she just fell into that paint scheme.

Here's a Tank to go with. Solidified the color scheme this past week. It's something I've been working on for a while.
I drew inspiration from this vehicle.

Looks good, but something seems a little off. Maybe consider adding some more detail color to the lascannon and main gun. Even just a little bit of black will break up the color scheme a little bit.

Thanks for the input, and it is by no means complete. I'm going to be doing detailing, such as finishing the plasmas, las and demolisher cannons, treads, battle scaring it, and the like. This is just the overall scheme, and I might do all my tanks to this level so they are "complete" for play, and then detail them all at once.

I would never have considered using a toy as inspiration for a paint job. If I'm after inspiration, I normally browse this ..

Personally it is not my cup of tea, but good on you for researching a scheme and sticking with it on your models. If it is something you like then that is all that matters (I know I am probably the only person who will like my Tau when I am done).

Honestly, I am looking forward to the final pieces, as I think they could sway me.

Cheers.
