Afternoon.

So it seems Stronghold Assault and Escalation are both pretty much 100% officially offical things in the game, and that the culture of various supplements and expansions to add variety is to be continued into 6th Ed (hurrah!)

But what would you like to see covered off?

Me, I'd really like to see some kind of Sabotage/Behind The Lines type affair, aimed at 500-750 point battle, supported with a plastic terrain release of things like ammo dumps and power stations to be knacked and blowed up during the game. One with sweet rules to promote lightly armoured units, rather than 'hurr, all my guys are unkillable' approach.

That, and sub aquatic battles, which would be ace cakes!

I am worried about the number of expansions, with all of the different rule sets it is great but you end up buying too many books.

How long until we have a special edition all the expansions expansion

Dunno. But at least the expansions haven't introduced new units for the armies (barring Super Heavies, which kind of existed before, but still don't exist outside of their expansions), so those who choose not to purchase don't really miss out beyond not taking part in games using said expansions.

Even terrain. No expansion? Well, it's just terrain then!

That is true and since you can't play with multiple expansions the rules don't get too cumbersome.

I do like that they really have tried to push the envelope in terms of types of games played.

We saw it at the end of 5th and now it is continued.

I'd just like a handful of new missions for regular games of 40k.

I do miss me some games of combat patrol & original Kill-Team. Small games like that were a nice way to play as someone was slowly building up an army, or for quick pick-up games. GW wants to sell more models, so those types of games went the way of the dodo for these new fortification and super heavy expansions, plus apocalypse. No love for the person just starting out.

Sorry for the rant!

Give Battle Missions a whirl. It's good!

I look at this as a chance to play missions as well as games with new and interesting variables. These offer up ways to drastically change the meta. Perhaps this will lead to the death of tau/eldar. Think of it this way anything that can mess up the current meta I am all about Sorry but the flavor of the month mentality in 40K drives me up a wall. So the more wacky the more twists and turns the better this game is. The only thing i'd like to see is rules for bunkers where weapons cannot negate their saves unless they are caused by flame throwers.... seriously not liking this whole concept where tau and eldar weapons can blow through bunkers....
