That is amazing! Absolutely bloody brilliant! I was expecting a few cobbled together drop-downs. This is not only really impressive in what it can do, but slicker than a greased penguin. Awesome. Awesome. Awesome.

With such impressive work though, I fear for the consequences if GW spot it. It's got points values in and everything. They might launch the missiles... :(

Gave it a quick try, I'm pretty impressed. I like it. It's kind of slow on my phone, a mobile version would be nice, but that's forgivable since you're just getting up and running.

A couple things:

A duplicate unit option would be very handy, I didn't see one in there.

Grey Knight Rhinos are mispriced at 50pts. They're 40 base.

The statline/special rule output at the bottom is great as a reference, but it would be nice to see it more broken up by unit. The formatting and everything is good, it would just be nice to be able to tell what models are in what unit a little more easily.

For example, it currently says something like
1 Draigo
1 Apothecary
9 Paladins
4 Grey Knights
1 Justicar
1 Rhino

If I sit and look at it for a second, I can figure out what goes where, but I could easily get mixed up if there are a lot of similar units. If you could add a row to break it up, something like:

1 Draigo ...(statline)

Troops: 10 Paladins
-1 Apothecary...statline
-9 Paladins...statline

Troops: 5 Strike Squad with Rhino
-1 Justicar...statline
- 4 Grey Knights...statline
- 1 Rhino

That way at a glance I can see that I'm looking at Draigo, 10 Paladins, and a 5 man strike Squad in a Rhino. All you'd need is an extra row preceeding each unit as a sort of line break.

Just a further add, I've now created a full list and printed it off. Absolutely stunning tool. I now have a neatly printed list of my entire army, points calculated, with stat lines everywhere and special rules listed. I even have summaries of all the weapons and wargear effects contained in my army.

I suppose if I'm to follow DarkLink's lead and you want criticisms, then "Slow and Porposeful" is misspelt.

But really great. Everyone should try this out.

C&D incoming. This will get shut down in a heartbeat. How the others get away with it is taht the actual lists and data files are not hosted by the software makers. Great Idea but GW will shut you down in no time flat.

I am getting a little tired of seeing an 'expect a C&D from GW yesterday' in every single thread, though. Yes, GW hands them out more than they should. We get it. It doesn't happen to everyone, though.

Thats actually... really good. My only problem is that I use FW models and there is no option for them. I guess thats to be expected though

Need to check it out. I wonder if it is better than Army Builder. An online army builder for free would be very handy over a 50 dollar download or cd.

I don't really see a c and d for something that is not for profit. However I doubt that the army builder company is allowed to do what it does with gw blessings.

Even if you remove GW's protected art you're looking at a C&D quicker than you can say... C&D.

Props for the effort but an online-only roster builder is doomed for take-off due to the way in which GW insists the "data files" are separated from the tool itself.

I would say you should state that the boxes are unit slots instead of getting a bunch of boxes with army art.

Under the warband section I have no options or saw no options to swap out weapons, etc.

For example what if I wanted to make a hotshot carpace armour guy, instead of having a standrad guardsmen knock off.

Another issue was I couldn't swap out power weapons on my crusaders and deathcult.

Anyway when I was done making the unit. 1 deathcult, 1 crusder, 1 warrior, 1 daemon host, 1 banisher and 1 servator who I didn't have weapon options as well. I couldn't read anything in the box. It was just a bunch of mixed up text.

I quite like it.
At first I was a bit concerned about the layout but within moments I figured out what to do, tried to make a BA army. Very intuitive.
Two comments, DC dreadnought is a Troop, currently listed as Elite and I can't find the Sanguinary Guard.

No, you can't read everything in the box, it runs out of space, but you obviously didn't scroll down the page. Everything you add is placed in a neat table down the bottom. And if you print it out, it not only details all your units and options, it also gives statlines for those units, their weapons and relics. Can't speak for other races, but the Eldar one seemed quite complete and accurate. I presume omissions in other armies will get filled in as it makes its way out of beta.

Really, really blown away by this. Must have been a lot of work.

This is pretty well done. The only criticism I have (knowing it is a work in progress and there are currently typos and stuff that will be fixed) is that there are not enough slots. Two HQ's, 3 Elites, 3 Fast Attack, 3 Heavy and 6 Troops requires 17 boxes and there are only 10. Perhaps I am missing something in the use. I would also agree with the earlier comment that actually labelling the slots rather than picking for each one might be nice.

It looks good and is easy to use.

I know its beta, so not complaining but the Tyranid rules need to be looked at. I saw several problems right off the bat. Tyranid prime's regeneration is 10pts not 30pts. There is no option to take Tervigons as troops (you can take one per termagant brood.) Saw a few others but you get the idea.

Looks like you spent a lot of time on this, good job so far.

IF GW was on the ball they would hire someone to make an official army builder, sure looks like there is a market for one.

I noticed for force org swaps, you go through the unit auctions and check the box for the force org swap. So paladins for example are listed under elites, but they have an option under the elites section that designates troops.

It actually had that with the warband to turn them into troops.

Ummm. I would like to change out that power sword for a mace etc. When I am playing someone I don't want it look like I am weapon swapping to meet the armies needs in handling another player.

It was also two dvds with one being allies and the other being xenos. Also they sucked at keeping it updated. In other words this beta format is better than what GW did lol.

I noticed the text at the bottom.

However I can sit and praise the efforts saying the builder is good which does nothing to make it better. In fact it encourages no updates and leave it as is. If you point out flaws and be really critical of the work it is helpful in that they can fix the problems or think of something they haven't thought of yet.

That being said I haven't really looked at it yet due to time. However instead of figuring out how to create I would like possible text saying what each button does. However since I am looking at it via phone I can't use a mouse to scroll over the bix if it even has text or not if I scroll over it.

I like the ideal and the presentation. My problem is so far I would still use army builder by wolfsflair simply do to the ease I can make an army list with that product and how often they update the material.

Orks war biker has the option for force org swaps... tyranid trigon didn't.

I just got on a tinkered with this builder and loved it. I did find a points error in the Dark Angel section already for Razorback. Under Weapon options for it all the points are wrong might want to check it out.

Once you've selected your army type, click on an empty slot and select the unit type (don't worry about things that can be troops sometimes and are elites others, select them as elites and you can tick a box to make them troops later, e.g. Wraith Guard).

Click the little down arrow that appears at the bottom of the slot and select the unit type.

If there are options you want with the unit click on the + in the bottom right of the slot next and configure your options. Some of the items that appear in the fold-out option have an arrow to the left of them. Click on those and they unfold to show you the options.

If you've created a unit and you no longer want it, click the red circle in the upper right of the slot to blitz it and start again.

I like it a lot, hope it flies under the GW legal radar. There were a few typos in the tyranid files, and most of their biomorph text info is wrong, but it's a great tool for being free.

Just a query, all the troops and other choices seem to be missing certain options, for example; the Razorwing of the DE, how do I add things like a change of missiels etc. or how to add more troops to a unit, forgive me if it's me being daft, but I couldn't see how to add weapons options and extra bodies. I like it also. My observation would be to check the spelling on stuff. As in the Spiritseer has a Witch Staff which you listed as Witch Stuff. Though arguably correct also:D

I take it you have not had time for all the options on the list. As you might guess from above I experimented with the Eldar list. One of the reasons I like it so much is I built my own army builder in excel but had to regenerate one for each army type. I am impressed with the way this fits all into one screen.

Just noticed an Error with the Venerable Dreadnought in the Space Marines, I chose Missile Launcher (which is shown in right hand but is a left side weapon) and Assault Cannon (again wrong hand), and it told me I must have at least 1 weapon, so forcing me to drop the ML for a storm bolter. Pretty sure going by a couple of other list builders I am allowed to have AC and ML on them. :)

Otherwise it's an awesome set up and idea. I like it a lot.

only issue i found is the number of things you can take is limited i.e. I was trying to make a 3000 point ork army and ran out of space at 1987 pts and a couple things mis-spelt like ''slagga'' but other than that it's amazing
