I don't know if I am every going to run this list - I'm certainly not going run out and get all the (many, many) bits I don't have that I would need to run it - but I'm nevertheless curious to read what you think of it.
Heroes
• Tetto'eko (General)
• Skink Chief on Terradon w/Enchanted Shield, Gambler's Armor, Spear
• Skink Chief (BSB) w/Dragonhelm, Glittering Scales, Javelin & Shield
• Skink Priest (Level 2, Lore of Beasts)
Core
• 16 Skinks w/Javelin & Shield, Poisoned Attacks (Full Command) +2 Kroxigors
• 16 Skinks w/Javelin & Shield, Poisoned Attacks (Full Command) +2 Kroxigors
• 14 Skinks w/Javelin & Shield, Poisoned Attacks (Full Command)
• 10 Skink Skirmishers
• 10 Skink Skirmishers
Special
• 7 Terradon Riders w/Fireleech Bolas (Patrol Leader)
• 10 Chameleon Skinks w/Blowpipes
• Bastiladon w/Solar Engine
• Bastiladon w/Solar Engine
Rare
• Ancient Stegadon w/Giant Blowpipes
• Ancient Stegadon w/Giant Blowpipes
Tetto'eko hangs out with the small skink bus. Of the other two, one gets the BSB, the other gets the priest. The flying chief hangs out with his terradon rider escort.
Let's talk about a few things that are awesome about this list.
The infantry is an enormous blob. Sure, they'll die pretty fast, but there are so damn many of them! And if the infantry is taking the hits, my opponent isn't focusing on any of my monsters, which I can jam down his throat, shooting sun-lasers and poisoned darts along the way. And when I finally do get into melee, I can easily use Curse of the Midnight Wind, Harmonic Convergence, and Wyssan's Wildform (and two overlapping bubbles of +1 Initiative to the already speedy Skinks) to make sure that I actually pack a decent punch.
And speaking of things jammed down my opponent's throat, consider that not only do my terradon riders get a Vanguard move and my chameleons a Scout deployment, but d3 other units will also enjoy the Vanguard rule.
So... as an intellectual exercise. And a list I might run sometime in, I dunno, 10th Edition, what do you think?
