Hey guys,

Recently seen the new Eldar Christmas Iyanden box set and was thinking of picking it up. I've written a list for 1850 with as many robots as I can muster.

So this was the list I was thinking of rolling with for a while.

HQ:
Seer - 70
Seer - 70
Farseer - 100

Troops:
10 Wraithblades - Axes & Shields - 320
5 Wraithguard - D-Scythes - 210
+ Serpent - Holo, Cannon, Scatter - 145
5 Wraithguard - D-Scythes - 210
+ Serpent - Holo, Cannon, Scatter - 145
10 Guardians - 90

Heavy:
Wraithlord - Scatter, Star, Glaive - 165
Wraithlord - 2xLance - 160
Wraithlord - 2xLance - 160

Total: 1845

General tactic would be to keep a seer with each d-scythe guard unit to buff them and give them battle focus. Farseer to support the wraithlord and blades while they pick off high priority targets and get up the field. The ten guardians are just spare points, I was thinking of changing them to 4/5 Jetbikes with a cannon for objective grabbing and a bit more survivability. But could also toy with the idea of adding a unit of Hawks if I ever end up having to play The Scouring.

I'd like to stick with the 3 wraithlord setup, and don't overly want to drop the wraithblades. Changing the d-scythes to heavy wraithcannons maybe an option for extra points, this would free up some points for a unit of scorpions if I were to drop the guardians.

Any suggestions would be awesome, also any opinions on this doing well at tournament would be greatly appreciated.

How are you able to have 3 HQ choices in a single FOC? I would drop the Farseer and Guardians, using the points to upgrade the 2 Bright Lance Wraithlords to Wraithknights. They are much tougher, much better at busting heavy armor, AND much more robot-esque :P

Iyanden supplement allows multiple Spirit Seers to count as 1 HQ (I think up to 5)

You aren't really gaining anything by having multiple Seers and that little Guardian squad. The Guardians are going to be mashed almost instantly and for less than the cost of each Seer you can have another couple of Wraiths.

The Spirit Stone of Anath'lan is great for Iyanden Spiritseers as it makes Voice of Twilight 1WC, as well as Invisibility and Hallucination if you roll on Telepathy and get them.

If you have the points spare give all Wraithlords a Ghostglaive, it's great value for what it does.

VoT is two warp charges. You can give your boys buffs, OR you can give everything in 12" VoT. I run two Seers for this reason - one to buff the unit he's with, and one to give the Wraithlords and all Wraithguard VoT. You don't have to cast VoT every turn, but you'll find yourself casting it more often than not.

Anggul has a good point with the SS of Anath'lan (which I had not previously thought of and will be seeing if it is worth putting in my army).

Ghostglaives are awesome. +1S and Master-Crafted.

Wraithblades just aren't that killy. Have you tried wraithcannon Wraithguard and didn't like them? IMO they're the best Wraith option, hands down. S10 AP2, almost always twin-linked by a Farseer so even being charged makes you deadly . . . I love them. I shoot down flyers with 'em, Distort-stomp charging MCs, nothing can stand up to a Wraithcannon or 10.

For $200 I'd think long and hard about picking one up even with my 1850 complete! I've dreamed happy dreams of 55 Wraithguard marching across the field, slaughtering everything they saw . . . such joyous dreams.

Ok, so my box turned up and i've started to rejig my list a little bit.

Keeping in the spirit of the 3 wraithlord run, i've decided against using my wraith knight for now, decided to drop dual bright lances on the lords and worked around keeping the guardians and farseer alive while sticking with the wraithlords.

So this was the new list i came up with:

HQ
Farseer - Wing (130)
Seer - Spiritstone (85)
Seer - Stock (70)
Warlock - Stock (35)
Warlock - Stock (35)

Troops
5 Guard - Wraithcannon (160)
- wave serpent - holo, scatter, cannon (145)
5 Guard - Wraithcannon (160)
- wave serpent - holo, scatter, cannon (145)
7 Wraithblade - Axes - (224)
8 Rangers - (96)
10 Guardians - Scatter (110)

Heavy Support
Wraithlord - Bright, glaive (145)
Wraithlord - Bright, glaive (145)
Wraithlord - Scatter, Star, Glaive (165)

General idea:
1 seer with each of the wraith guard units so they can cover flanks/grab objectives/spirit mark for the wraithlords around turn 2-3. Farseer and the 2 warlocks stick in with the guardians, protected by the bright lance wraithlords, giving any spells they can from runes of fate and divination. Rangers camp alongside the guardians. All the while the wraithblades and scatter wraithlord trundle up the field, hopefully not taking too many casualties along the way.

I like that i have a miniature seer council, along side that shouldn't have to take Guide, with a fair amount of opportunity to spirit mark. 2 Wraithlords should be enough to pop tanks on the first turn (fingers crossed) but if not i can drop the scatter laser for another bright lance with the guardians.

Problematic list? or not enough robots to ram down my opponents throat?
