The only one haven't is the Nintendo one as the worst peasants are dismissive of Nintendo for not being "hardcore" (which they usually define by playing 100s of hours of the newest call of modern warfare battlefield duty 83) enough.
I find most people that are still fond of Nintendo are PC gamers...

Actually I've not had the Nvidia Titan one. It's all so silly though, I mean consoles have practical uses in the sense you can buy it and get a game and know it works and that is fine. But if you want to get cutting edge gaming rig you go PC.

Finding Wolfenstein hard going. The theme is really cool I'm just finding the gameplay a bit meh. The learning curve is weird - the difficulty just seems to shoot up and down! Boo.

As you might expect, the SimCity free trial offer comes with a few strings attached. It's limited to the single-player mode in the Cape Trinity and Reflection Atoll regions, and only provides two save slots. They confirmed it is a timed exclusive. If it actually was fully exclusive that would be big news, as it is they are just going to have staggered sales as everyone else will just wait for it to release on other platforms.
The real big news of the event was that Sony stealth revealed a new Silent Hill called "Silent Hills", they introduced it as "PT" from a fake studio. Hideo Kojima and Guillermo del Toro are the writers/directors/producers/whatever. Kojima and Sony pulled off one of the best trolls in a games conference ever. Link for the details. I watched both conferences and both were pretty "meh" compared to the E3 showings. 10 million PS4s sold is unsurprising, Microsoft didn't really announce anything new, Sony announced mostly new indie titles with the exceptions being Silent Hills (PT) and the re-reveal of Until Dawn. Quantum Break gameplay was amazing, Sony spent less time on gameplay footage and more on just trailers and weird stuff (Metal Gear Solid 5 boxes). I'd rate both conferences about the same, hard to complain about so many new games from Sony and all the cool Halo/Quantum Break footage Microsoft showed. As a proud owner of both a PS4 and Xbox One I'm pretty happy with the showings. I think Tokyo Game Show should be interesting as Sony will likely market the crap out of Bloodborne and possibly show off some more Kingdom Hearts 3/Final Fantasy 15 footage if Square Enix decide to pop up. If the Last Guardian exists it is either going to appear there or at the next E3. Hopefully Microsoft shows off Scalebound and maybe a new Japanese exclusive but I wouldn't bet on either unfortunately, they don't really give a hoot about the Japanese home console space.

Wasn't having a go, sorry :p Was just letting everyone know in case anyone missed it, I guessed you would have seen it as well. Microsoft need to fire their marketing/PR teams already, they screwed up so badly with the Tomb Raider announcement. Contrast this with Sony where they went out of their way to say whether a title was "debuting first on Playstation" or "fully exclusive to Playstation".

Seems like the usual allegations. Honestly the whole game media industry is a giant old boys network, its really rich to get high and mighty about allegations a woman is sleeping with developers to get good reviews like that is worse than bribery and general corruption. Plus as the article says any media outlet dumb enough to do so deserves whatever happens to it.

I'm sceptical though, 4chan has had it in for this game since it was announced along with miscellaneous other ****stains so the fact it is the developer of that game that is having these accusations leveled at her makes me very suspicious.

Edit: Lol, it was started by her ex-boyfriend after they broke up (http://motherboard.vice.com/blog/zoe-quinn-slut-shaming-the-feminist-conspiracy-and-depression-quest) and he is doing all the usual revenge bull****, one of the reviewers never reviewed the game and 4chans response is to claim a feminist conspiracy got the review deleted, because we all know how easy it is to make things disappear for ever off the interweb:

recently picked up Crusader Kings 2 (at full price two days before it went into the HumbleBundle (https://www.humblebundle.com/) argh) - anyone else play that?
For those who don't, it's a really fun medieval Grand Strategy game. Basically, you pick a ruler (from a "lowly" Count up to Emperor level) and a start date (1066 is the earliest in the basic game, expansions have pushed that back to eighthundredsomething and will push it further back) and then (try to) lead his (or sometimes even her) dynasty to greatness, conquering neighbours, assassinating rivals and mainly worrying about that plucky vassal of yours that keeps throwing weird looks at your throne.
Started my first playthrough as William the Conqueror, freshly crowned King of England. Fought some Scots for Cumberland, took a few bites out of Wales, lost Maine to France but who cares, stomped a few vassals and made friends with some others, among them a certain Duke Morcar of Northumberland and freshly also York (man he loved me after that...). Then I died.
So my son took over, who was a bit of a jerk. As such, he (or I) wasn't all that popular with the Vassals. That guy Morcar, whom my father had granted this enormous amount of land? He totally hated me, and he alone was almost half as powerful as I. And then there were my two brothers, who (perhaps understandably) wanted my crown. Long story short, I spent more time fighting Englishmen than anyone else pretty much, but was quite successful doing that. After the third major rebellion, they started to realize that maybe they should respect me... So I looked outwards again, conquered all of Wales and put a second crown on my head, took various pieces of Scotland who were very busy with their own rebellions and even went on the First Crusade (which failed, mostly because the French didn't join). Then my brothers came looking for another beating, I obliged. Then I died again, surely one of the greater, if not one of the more popular kings in Christianity (even got excommunicated a couple of times...).
So then again a son took over. Oh boy... There isn't really that good of a way to influence how good or bad your heir will be, which is completely fine with me. But... Well he was a craven, fat, cruel, gay, possessed heretic. Which led to every single one of my vassals totally hating me and rebelling... and then the Holy Roman Empire even went all Holy War on me and conquered the entire South-East. At my full power from the last ruler, I sure would have given them a good run for their money, but as it was I was completely lost... But had a ton of fun in the process :D

yeah XCOM is great, and Enemy Within makes it even better. And then there's The Long War, a mod that takes it to a completely new level of awesome (pretty much doubles the content - twice as many classes, boatloads of weapons, missions get way harder, campaign gets waaaay longer, relevant and interesting air combat and so on and so forth). Anyone who enjoyed XCOM on PC should really take a good look at that mod I think...

I bought the Age of Empires collection on Steam sale, Age of Empires II HD with expansion, and Age of Empires 3 with expansion for £7.49. quite fun playing 2 again, to me the HD upgrades seems more effective than the Age of Mythology HD upgrade, which kinda sucked. 3 seems like fun, I quite like the card deck system. bit too zoomed in for me, even when you change the settings to 'very far' I would prefer a wider view. the menu at the bottom takes up too much screen as well, should be smaller. the first campaign mission on malta is useless as well, gives you no clue what your objectives are. skirmish was quite fun though.

The orientation of the blande and handguard? They seem to be perpendicular rather than inline.

The fact he is meant to be an assassin yet all those metal clips and weapons will clink quite a bit when he is wandering about being stealthy, like a cat with a bell.

I didn't mod FO3, but for NV (on my old laptop so don't have all the names): Nevada Skies (must have imo), Electro City, Wasteland Flora Overhaul, one that adds fast travel markers inside the strip, one that makes companions put on casual outfits on the strip, Populated Casinos, Advanced Recon Stealth Armor (armoured dusters for the cowboy look without the dying), Unlimited Companions, Authentic Burned Man for Honest Hearts), and some gear mods like night vision goggles for the darker nights of Nevada Skies.

It is the latest version, but just doesn't work. Keeps crashing, at one point a crash wiped all the saves as well and I had to start again. Steam and Bethesda both had suggestions for making it work with windows 8 but nothing has worked.

Yeah I am going to look at the mods. It is crashing every time the assault rifle is reloaded so going to remove the high res weapon texture and see if that makes a difference.

deleted the weapon high res texture pack and that seemed to work for a good 45 minutes. then it just crashed again. I have given up and moved on to New Vegas, installed a load of mods with that and so far it has worked perfectly.

I do like it when you reach Nipton and are in a position to kill the Legion there. nothing worse than not being strong enough at that point to kill them all.

the Nevada skies mod is interesting, I liked the dust storm first time it sprung up, but you seem to get at least one every half hour, so between that and pitch black nights I have spent half the game being unable to see a damn thing, which gets old. the rain and lightning looks awesome though.

well I decided to pick up Destiny today. enjoying it so far, but I haven't gotten as far as the end of the Beta so far. IGN are reporting the total play time as 18 hours, which I find pretty astonishing for an MMO type game. people reached the level cap on launch day which again, thinking in MMO terms, is ludicrous. but Bungie have lately been telling everybody that it is not in fact an MMO. despite being a large online multiplayer only game...

the main issue it threw up was telling me my PS4 hard drive is full. I have I think nine disk based games and maybe a dozen download games, and have filled the standard hard drive. which basically means that giving a console like that a 500gb hard drive is a nonsensical waste of time. I had planned to buy a 1TB replacement but clearly that would be a waste of time as well, need a minimum of 2TB to get any sort of decent life span out of it.

Ooh ouch on Destiny :/ sounds like they were trying for Halo co-op type thing but built it like an MMO and got neither. A lot of early talk has been rather subdued which is a shame.

well the game itself is fun, and of course 18 hours is double the length of most first person shooters. with different classes there is potential for replay too. it is just that it is a fraction of what I was expecting. there is a big season pass to pay up front for all the future DLC, but it is £35, which is nearly the cost of the game again. I paid £36 after a couple of trade ins. on the one hand it suggests there will be an awful lot of extra content. on the other hand, if that content is all multiplayer maps etc. it wont interest me.

It doesn't matter to you. It matters to a lot of people, mostly women, who, in general, aren't being represented.

This is my first time making a doom wad for about 10 years, and my first time using ACS, Decorate and Sbarinfo etc.
This has been done on my own so far, but I am planning to release it, see what people think, and if anyone else is interested
in being a part of it, then they would be very welcome to contribute. It still needs work with the textures, adding guns, improving

I have a choice to come with regards to where to go from here. This works single and multiplayer
At the moment it is written for Zdoom, which means that it can't have 3d floors, and it can't have server client multiplayer.
I can either go to GZdoom which would mean that the buildings could be improved and there is more functionality for foliage etc
However, I could go the other way and change it so that it runs with skulltag for internet multiplayer. Currently lots of changes
to the code would need to be made to do this, but it would be much better for multiplayer. If I go with single player then I can use
a hubbed system with, as far as I know, a pretty much infinite map size (just in blocks). But that would have no multiplayer. So yea.

Well the problem with Unity was that they were going to have a femal protagonist, then two white male directors said to make itm ale quite early on and everything else was covering for that basically, then all their bull**** excuses. Ubisoft were actually doing better with representation than most AAA developers (bar Bioware and a couple of others) until then.
