Yes, that's right, Fallout 4.

What do we know?

Firstly: http://thesurvivor2299.com/

Looks vault-techy counting down to December 11th.

Then a quick Whois sechar shows:

Registrant Organization: ZeniMax Media Inc

ZeniMax, parent company of Bethesda...

The site also has morse code repeating 11 12 13

But this is the first problem, while 11 12 13 is a perfectly sensible date format ZeniMax and Bethesda would probably prefer 12 11 13 as the date format. But 11 12 13 does look cooler and is the date of the VGA awards.

Also, it is registered by a different company than is usually used for such things.

Then there is the fact that Fallout 4 has been registered as a trademark, but then Half-Life 3 was registered until it was found to be a hoax.

Let the rampant speculation begin!

*flails with cautious optimism*

Hope it is Fallout 4, but yes it isn't hard to fake trademarks. Someone did it with Blizzard recently, registered something in their name. Apparently you can register a trademark and specify a company you have no connection with, costs money but then some people are idiots who would think it well spent to hoax people.

I'm am cautiously excited. Bit sceptical given the existing chatter was saying towards the end of 2014, but I guess we'll see.

$990 hoax :(

Well that was rather pointless, not sure what sense of achievement somebody would get from creating a hoax like this. Either way we know Fallout 4 will happen and that's good enough for me :)

Playing fallout does make for a surreal experiance when you watch old american films and songs from fallout radio come on.

I loved the games, I even played 1 and 2 on my PC years ago. Fallout has always had a good mix of humour, action, plot and replay ability. New Vegas is likely in my top 5 best games ever. I think the only other games that come close to these for atmosphere are the early Resident Evil games, Eldar Scrolls games and the Bioshock ones

So the fallout4 saga continues.

I think we are all firmly aware that it is a when not an if when it comes to this game.

kotaku has revealed that is has seen some leaked scripts for project Institute, though the word Fallout is not included, references to it's locations are. The casting director for this project also worked on other Bethesda games, like Dishonored and Skyrim. Also the documents show that the location this time would be Boston.

The casting documents describe some of the other characters in the next Fallout's wasteland, like a radio DJ named Travis Miles and an engineer named Sturges who is described as "a cross between Buddy Holly and Vin Diesel." Casting calls for both the male and female versions of the player character note that the player begins the game in a cryogenic sleep chamber.

Though obviously anything can change between these scripts being leaked and the game being made so I think the only thing that we can take away is that there will be a fallout 4, which most of us were already sure of.

Cryogenic sleep chamber?
Now that is certainly an interesting new angle to take.

If the script is to be read by the player, then does that mean Ron Pearlman won't utter the words "War. War never changes",

Not Liam Neeson?

Maybe this time we'll get Sean Bean or Patrick Stewart...

Massachusetts is where most of the Lovecraft stories happen.

oh
I should probably read more lovecraft, but there's only really space for one tentacle fandom in my schedule...

Lovecraft is always worth a read, just gloss over the terrible terrible racism.

I very much look forward to Fallout 4, hopefully it will have the sort of depth Skyrim had.
