I like MCR, but I wouldn't consider myself a fan.

They didn't fit in with the other acts...

First thing I noticed about the video was everyone wearing heavy/death metal shirts...

I was there, the festival, not that stage though, I was watching Korn on the comparably tiny second stage...

not that I hold a grudge....... much....

Apparently, why else start the thread?

Okay.

Wait, am I supposed to care?

You personally? Definitely not. I don't think I've ever seen you do anything but whine/complain.

However, there's always "celebs that play 40K" posts, so I figured I'd add this new one.

One of the best shows I've seen was Korn/Disturbed on the Pop Sux tour, but I must admit despite Korn headlining I think Disturbed was a slightly better performance. Although since then, I believe Mushroomhead has done the best set I've seen so far. And yes, I'm going to say it: GWAR was the worst set I've ever seen in my life.

Psychosplodge

lol

Disturbed do put on a good set, but so do korn, it probably depends on the day.
I know soad and tool were both disappointing when I saw them but could just be one of them things...

I haven't been to many concerts myself, but most of them were pretty bad. Actually often the best ones were the new bands, the ones that had something to prove and really wanted to impress everyone, rather than the ones who were already established.

Concerts are fun as hell, my favorite being the Amon Amarth show I went to last April. Awesome time.

But I'm not a fan of MCR. News of this... time to hit the schnapps.

Okay.

Wait, am I supposed to care?

There is no need to cross the line into the full blown 'I am just trying to be annoying' phase. Go find something better to do.

Personally, I find it interesting. High profile fans can add publicity to the game. Even if this thread is meaningless in your opinion this is 40k General Discussion, and this topic has to do with 40k.

I do find it amusing that a thread about 'celebrities playing 40k' has turned into 'ragging about the musical talent or lack thereof of said celebrity'.

I want to see some metal artist that play Noise Marines, for the sheer irony factor. :D

I like MCR. Music is music is music. If it floats your boat, whatever. Although alot of MCRs music makes more sense now.

Their next album title? Welcome to the Black Crusade? House of Space Wolves?

LOL

I crack myself up

If you like MCR or not isn't really the point here imo. I rather think that any high level publicity (granted this guy isn't going to be on prime time telly talking about 40k and isn't exactly Brad Pitt level of fame but still) is a good thing for a niche hobby like GW products are. If this attracts even one more person to the game then it's a good thing.

I don't mind MCR's music to be honest, I just felt like being ornery because this thread seemed kinda pointless, like fake tits on a zombie pointless.

Mm, angsty marines. They taste good without filling you up, like pretzels.

Angsty marine special rules:
Stupid hairdo: With all that hair covering their eyes, ANGSTY marines are at -1 BS.
Nobody understands me!: ANGSTY marines have lived a hard life in suburbia with their oppressive upper middle class parents, and as a result nobody understands them. When playing ANGSTY marines, you are obliged to whine about how awful your life is.
CRAAAAWLING IN MY SKIIIN!!: ANGSTY marines players lose every game because they are pathetic wastes of space. Also burn down the nearest Hot Topic.

Meh I think its pretty cool. I'm an active musician (not MCR level by no means but my band has done a leg of warped tour and a few coast to coast DIY club tours) and its extremely rare to find anyone who is into war gaming. In fact I don't think I've met any other musicians who are, granted the topic rarely comes up in that setting! 40k is my 2nd passion and unfortunately being a musician leaves you very little time or money to do big warhammer events. Like I'd love to go to adeptecon or bolscon but it would suck to get it all planed and ready to go and then have an important gig or something come up on that weekend and then have to cancel the trip to the tourny that you already paid for. I can live with that tho, its a worthwhile sacrifice.:p

While I know its not very punk rock to like MCR I do have a small soft spot for some of there music. I'd love to meet the guy and talk 40k and IG with him for sure.

Madam, are you acquainted with a c*ck in a frock? Or less formally, chicks with d*cks?

I mean virtually, because you seem to have developed an e-peen... (http://www.encyclopediadramatica.com/E-penis)

The same goes when you hijack threads and turn it into a Sister's rant / whine fest.

I am amazed you haven't attempted to comment on why the guy in question didn't mention Sisters or why he didn't use Faith Points to block the bottles being thrown on stage during Download 2007.

Actually the tunes would def be considered dubstep. Myspace just doesn't have dubstep as a genre so I put dub/pop/reggae

Anyway, surly the whiny **** would play lamentors...

But more importantly,

are fake tits on a zombie really useless? or do they make the apocalypse more light hearted?
