I like to circle models with my transports which keep units like storm claw terminator s stuck in one position. However if the unit have anti tank they can get through the circle. It is also good with swarms which can keep the swarm in one location. The beautiful part of this tactic is your vehicles have to be alittle les than 3" away from each other. That way the enemy unit can't get out due to having to be 1" away from the vehicle.

The third video I will use. I was doing something similar, but that is way better than what I was doing before. My question I guess if what if you are denying cover saves though.

Love the videos keep them coming.

Warhammer 40K Tips, Tricks and Dirty Tactics; Defensive Assault

In this episode of Tips, Tricks and Dirty Tactics, Reecius shows you how to assault while minimizing your opponent's overwatch. This is a great tactic to use against Tau especially!

I can't fathom why I never thought about that anti-Overwatch tactic before. I'll be using that in the near future for sure! In the video scenario, was that rock impassible terrain, so there's no way for the gaunts to go over it (for the shortest distance possible)? If it were just a little bit of forest instead of impassible, wouldn't they have to go through the forest and strike at Initiative 1 (assuming no assault grenades)?

There's another thread in the Rules forum about whether or not Focus Fired characters can Look Out Sir wounds allocated to them to anyone else in their unit that is in the cover. That would be important in the 3rd video's scenario, but still, excellent suggestion for taking out those more deadly weapon dudes.

Yeah, the rock was impassible terrain so they go around it. You can use the trick with vehicles, too!

We play it that you can LoS! the wounds with Focus Fire sniping.
