Gitzkrieg

So the title is a little short, and doesn't give much away. I thought about putting detail into the title, but i couldnt quite find a way to word it that didn't have dramatic punch. (or you can scroll to the pictures)


Gitzkrieg is my Ork force, containing no small amount of variety and themed models. It started in 2010 with the construction of a few scratch built grot tanks. I enjoyed them so much i began to dust off the orks and get ready for an all new waaagh. In jan of 2012 i put them down, having become fustrated by how dated the codex felt, and 6th didn't help that sensation. On the other hand, orks are fun as hell to make and paint so i'm back on the battle wagon.

This log will chart my progress through various parts of my force.

The Lore;

Gitzkrieg was originally a evil sun warband who became obsessed with mekinzed waaagh!fare. As it's conflicts increased so to did the warbands who flocked to join it. Such was the fame it began to achieve that even the likes of Wazdakka, and a number of freeboota's flocked to join the cause. Following a series of brutal conflicts with both the imperium and the tyranids the Gitzkrieg has become a mingled mash of Pirately speedfreeks. Many have chosen to style themselves as a new clan, the Evil Moons. Some of the Orks still cling to there old clans, but the alure of fast vehicles and lots of loot erode any sense of clan pride.

I've got some of that planned... but gitzkrieg is far more than frebooters, it's also military orks. Which means i get to have real fun putting together a combination of the two. There is also another project coming up nearer to christmas.

Well i live on the isle of man... so that could present problems. glad you approve of the work though!

Ok before i post what i've managed to paint in the last few days, after 7 year's i've finally got rid of photobucket. The relentless un-mutable ads (which i then got ad-block for), insistance on making me like images to there website, and general crappyness have pushed me to far. I liked the service as was, i'm happy to be advertised to in return for a good service, but i'm not a product who'll sit there because he has no options. Btw, some more stuff is coming, i'm currently putting together the first deff kopta squad.

I've spent the past 3 days mostly building my army, and testing it out on monday. Tabled grey knights, 11vps to 1vp. The army, it turns out, is damned impressive.

Batch painting like a beast at the minute, i want to have the 22 model grot unit, the 3 deff kopta's and the forkifation finished for a game on monday. At the next update they should look a little less tabletop quality and more in line with the warboss.

Wow guys, thanks for all the feedback! i'm glad someone out there's seeing this. The grots are actually from black scorpion miniatures, and they are damn lovely models. Great resin casts too!

Right early update... I'm coming down with a chest infection so it may slow my progress to a crawl for a week, but i have finished the deff kopta's;

i've got the kitbashed gret populi mini (since grox seems to remind me of the pack animals in 40k).... still needs work doing (like mold line removal) but given i'm about to keel over i'll settle for it.

i'm actually liking that suggestion, i might use it...

Ok guys, since i'm committing to orks for the foreseeable future (with the exception of Dark Elves in march/april) i'm gearing up for my next years apoc matches so i don't have to worry about pulling an army out of my backside. I did originally plan to bring an Emperor Class Titan next year, but i'm not sure i have the energy for that. We'll see.


I have however picked up a stompa for £40, which means i am going to arm it like a good stompa should be armed. Here's the loadout; I'm using the IA8 Kustom Stompa rules;
