I'm only in my 30's but I have to say you need to see the 60's Batman TV show. Eartha Kitt and Julie Newmar both played Catwoman at various times and set it up for a long run as a sexy character on TV and in the movies. In fact, I would even have to say that the most recent version (Hathaway) is far less sexy than the original screen versions.

Not sure if I 'like' the face tattoos on Merrill there, look too much to my eye like they where drawn on with a Sharpie or something. Yes I know that is how it's done, but the sharpness and line weight have too much variance for my liking.

Is it me, but Sarrion there seens to be 'missing' something, something that would kick the costume too an evilness level of 11. Billowing cloak, witchfire? Anyone?

Ah that's awesome! This one is from Ultimate Spiderman. Loki had traded bodies with Spiderman to cause problems and ruin his name (Spiderman and team meddled with a Loki plot in an earlier episode). Since Peter doesn't know how to teleport like Loki and didn't have his web shooters, he took public transportation like a good New Yorker.

Yup DAII is great, far from perfect but genuinely great especially from a narrative and world building perspective. Kirkwall felt like a real (****ed up) place and the people Hawke surrounded herself with all felt like real (****ed up) people.

That may be a fair comparison if Final Fantasy was actually an RPG. Instead it is a linear story with action sequences to break it up. The only decisions you make is how the characters fight. Might as well be Diablo.

Well I wouldn't say it is dumbed down, DAO had as much depth as most RPGs of its generation, DA2 focused perhaps too much on roleplay and not enough on gameplay with its simplified more action-y gameplay but DAI has got a good balance. I've always believed that a RPG is defined more by its ability to facilitate roleplay, immersion and charcter development than by raw gameplay mechanics.

There were cutscenes in BG, in exactly the same way as in DA:O, I don't know what you're basing your assumptions on, but you're totally wrong about Origins. 2 was tighter in its focus but this allowed it to tell a different type of story, you still to to role play how your Hawke got the job done and interacted with the city and its inhabitants

Inquisition was totes amazing though - except from the rather bad console port, especially with the crummy interface it had on PC. Rest of it, be it gameplay, world, characters or story, are just plain great imho

The story of Origins was fairly generic, but it made up for it by excellent characters and world building and the way it propelled you through the story. DA2 had a much better story, and it was more unusual in that you completely fail to stop the poop hitting the fan, which I think is something a lot of people didn't like because they are used to sweeping in as the Heroic Protagonist and forcing everyone to do what they want.

I like it when it is used to replicate how they look in the game or whatever the costume comes from, like adding the flame effects on this one. But plain costume pictures would also be nice.

Baldur's Gate never really appealed to me, kept getting killed far to early in it, now Torment on the other hand...... behave your self or the Lady of Pain will come calling.

Not really, at least, from my perspective. Final Fantasy was never really much the type of RPG where you made a story, but rather followed one. You decided what the characters did in combat, and where they went, what they wore, but the amount of decision making that affected the overall storyline compared to Baldur's Gate, Planescape, Deus Ex, or even Dragon Age is very minimal and still closer to Diablo.

Don't get me wrong, there is a lot of "follow the story" in any of those RPGs I just listed because that's half the fun, but they still have ways of making the story end in a "bad" way other than death like Final Fantasy or Diablo offer in in its lines, and none of them will offer the dynamics of a live DM on a PNP game like Pathfinder can provide.

Yup. I'm a lekku snob, I'm very very fussy when it comes to lekku in cosplay. Like I get most people do it for fun and I don't judge but I do pay extra attention to twi'lek and togruta headpieces, and that is easily one of the best Ahsoka's I've seen. You'd think they would be easier than twi'lek headpieces but they seem to get the proportions wrong.

Suicide Squad is something I am waiting to see before I judge it, because it might be okay, it looks like it'll probably be bad, though. Harley kinda fits, but I still think her original incarnation was the best and I was hoping they'd go back to that rather than steadily shrinking her costume down every time she appears in something. (Seriously, she goes from onesie to corset and tight pvc, to the teeniest hotpants. If this keeps up we'll be seeing her naked throughout the next movie she's in.)

My main concern isn't just nobody really looks the part yet, but also they've gone for bigger names.

Generally, any film featuring big name movie stars is somewhat disappointing in my experience.

Every actor in the Marvel films?
The list goes on.

Marvel's choices weren't exactly A Listers when it started off the universe.

Robert Downey Jr was considered a long washed up hasbeen.

Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston? Who, prior to Thor.

Chris Evans - well known for appearing in two not-exactly-revered Fantastic 4 films (though I like them!)

Scarlett Johannson - better known for more indie fare (and rightly so!)

I think the biggest difference is that Marvel have now produced 11 successful films, and even those less loved were still solid hits by most studio standards, and enjoyable enough.

Man of Steel underperformed. Not a flop by any stretch of the imagination, just a real damp squib considering the property and the market it was entering. Kind of like the Burger you get in BK, compared to how it looked on the overhead menu - bit lack lustre. Dark Knight Rises did well, but was a pale imitation of its two predecessors (and whilst I appreciate Heath Ledger's performance, he wasn't Joker to my mind - not enough insanity or bizarre punch lines). I just don't think the 'superserial' approach is at all advisable. It's the same issue as Torchwood faced. You can't just put swearing and nookie in then call it mature Dr Who!

But hey, I'm happy to be proved wrong when they come out. From what I've seen I don't think they're for me, but they could be incredibly ace.

I think if DC mess anything up it will be the tone. Marvel have got the mix of serious and comic book silliness right, because none of the films take themselves too serious even when they deal with serious themes. DC seem to desperately be clinging to the idea they can sell comics and comic book films as Serious Cinema/Literaure and it just doesn't work too well. As well received as the Nolan Batman trilogy was it still gets mocked for being over the top and silly and its still not as successful as most of the MCU has been.
It's odd because DC are nailing teevee shows.

Some fine folks who made a real effort for the opening of WW yesterday. The marines struggled to fit through the door of Bugmans. Their back packs had working fans in as well. I was very impressed.
