So I noticed that Dreads have power-fists now, losing DCCW's, which is odd to me. Now they have power-fists.

Now I've looked everywhere in the book to find the answer I'm looking for. The answer being that Dreads don't strike at I1 for using the power-fist. I have not found my answer. Is it there in rulebook, or are dreads now best served as gun platforms, unless you're playing BA or Ironclads.

Feel free to link me to another thread if this answered elsewhere.

Thank you in advance.

Look at the rules for Unweildy p.43 BRB. parapharsing strike at I1 unless walker or monsterous creature

You know what I don't get?

If all the new-book walkers have power fists instead of Dreadnought close combat weapons, why did they even bother statting the DCCW?

Didn't want to bother FAQing everyone else's DCCWs into power fists? So they just changed how power fists work, then gradually turn everyones DCCWs into power fists, and then in the next edition DCCWs will just fall off altogether?

Seems even more needlessly complicated than FAQing them to me.

My thoughts exactly. Pretty much everyone knew how dccw worked, and I didn't need to ask my question.

The nicer thing about the Fists is they're AP2, so if the Dread punches a vehicle and gets a Pen, it's +1 on the damage table.

So are DCCWs, though... the only thing power fists have that they don't is the Specialist Weapon rule.

So the ironclad does not get an extra attack for having 2 CCW anymore?

Yes, that's true...

I don't think it is. An Ironclad in the current codex has three close combat options: a power fist, a seismic hammer, or a chainfist. All three of those are Specialist Weapons, so if the Ironclad has any two of them, it gets the extra Attack for having two Melee weapons.

So any 2 specialist weapons stack an attack? I thought they had to be identical or was that 5th?

That was 5th. Any two Specialist Weapons stack now.

Chainfist + lightning claw FTW!

This is why my Sons of Medusa chapter master is fighting with a power fist in one hand and the Teeth of Terra in the other.

Which makes absolutely NO SENSE but there you go.

Well, it makes sense with lightning claws and power fists and chainfists. Those are all basically the same object and used basically the same way. When you start getting into more exotic things like thunder hammers or Specialist Weapon swords, yeah, I agree it makes no sense.

It also makes tech priest who comes with 1 specialist weapon more viable as well, also you can put them on bikes.
