demonllamma's Elysians with Blood Angels allies

I had a large local tournament last weekend and got everything presentable. This should be my army for the LVO in February too, so it will need some more work to be completely done.

There are 50 some Elysians actually done. I'm quite happy with the paint scheme.

The Vulture still needs work, as do a few other things, but overall, I'm happy with the progress.

Wow, these are pretty slick man! You're pressing all the right buttons for me. Highlighting is solid, colours are crisp, shading in all the right areas and the basing is great.

Elysians cannot take Sabre Platforms. They are for Imperial Guard only.

I like the pint job, also why have I never thought of using Elysians to ally with BA, sounds like a perfect match for a special airborne division of the pdf.

Elysians are explicitly explained as an Imperial Guard Army for the purposes of interacting with other armies/forces/rules. The wording on the Sabre platforms states that any Imperial Guard army may replace a heavy weapon squad with a unit of 1-3 platforms. Regardless, it was allowed at the tourney here. If I have the time before February, they will get swapped out for 20 more guardsmen though. They weren't terribly useful in-game.

It was a lot of fun to play too. Very fluffy with guardsmen and Marines dropping in. The Blood Angels were an army I used a lot in 5th Edition and I put them to the side when Grey Knights came out. They were brought in because I knew I wasn't going to have enough Elysians painted for the tournament. I'm so happy with them that I'll be keeping them in the list.

The army list for the Elysians that I am using is the one in the 2nd Edition Taros Campaign. The entry for the Sabers that I am using is from Imperial Armor: Aeronautica, which I believe is the most current iteration of the rules (Aeronautica and the 2nd edition of IA1 came out at roughly the same time as I remember), though I could be wrong on that. When I get home from work, I'll double check them both and post the relevant entries if they are any different. You may well be right.

Regardless, it was kosher for the tournament (lists were pre-submitted and I asked). I do think I will omit them from the list in future though. They were largely in the list because they come out to 150 points and I knew I wouldn't be able to get that many more Elysians done! They didn't really do anything worthwhile in the list. Now that I have 3 months or so, I should be able to get more done. I'm thinking of adding another Drop Sentinel or two. Another with a Multi-Melta or a pair with Heavy Flamers is tempting.
