Ok so I've been working for a while on getting a full company to start with and last month I changed the style I paint my army..... So basically I restarted my Dark angel successor chapter the Knights of Axiom. Last night after working out what I could be salvaged from my older stuff and what I needed to buy, I started to build some things and paint what I had ready. So here's the build so far.
I will update wit hpictures through night, as I didn't really plan on posting this when I sat down

7th Assault squad. only have 5 for now but I've changed out plasma pistols for flamers to try them out, I do have a power sword but it pinged off as I took it out the case shall be digging out a new one for him. Plus they look so good.

Great start man. As a fellow hobbyist embarking on a similar level SM Company building/repainting project, I can only wish you luck. Very much looking forward to seeing how these turn out (probably much quicker than mine do...)

Thanks For the support unfortunately during my travels over the past few days I've miss laid all my brushes....... not happy about that and the only place near by that sells the brushes I like Is closed dew to illness. So I might have to take the plunge and buy a GW fine details and suffer the thinkness of it

Oh, man... isn't the new sternguard kit just the tightest **** ever? I've been admiring the models I made last night all morning, and it makes me smile to see some of the same bits incarnated in your work here. I also like the way you've posed the models, creating lots of energy and variety and multiple levels in your squads. I'm really looking forward to seeing them painted.

Now, onto the critique...

I like the kit-bashed backpacks you've come up with, but your greenstuffing there is a little rough. I recommend going back and hitting it with the file once it's dried fully.

As for your cloak, it's also a bit blobby. I'm going to outline how I do greenstuff cloaks, because I'm not sure where you went slightly pear-shaped.

1. Roll out greenstuff into a thin flat sheet on a flat, greased surface.
2. Allow to partially cure (about 45 minutes).
3. Cut into the shape of the cloak/robe at rest.
4. Poke into place on the model. You may have to apply a little glue at the contact points, or you may not, depending on how tacky the greenstuff is.
5. Secure the model into position in such a way that "down" is "the way the wind is blowing." The partially cured greenstuff will gradually sink into position.
6. Allow to sit overnight.
7. Profit!

I've emphasized the areas where I suspect you went slightly wrong. Either the sheet was still too soft when you applied it to the model, which is why it looks kind of blobby, or it wasn't cut into a rectangular shape.

Honestly, though, it doesn't look too bad. If you like it, I'd just ignore me and go with it. However, I think it would look "crisper" and more robe-like if it were a flat hem that was waving in the wind rather than an uneven shape, also unevenly waving.

yeah thats for the love on my models the new kit is awsome will be investing in a vanguard with any luck in the following weeks. And thanks for the tips I tend to try and get the rough shape and size then leave it for around 30 mins before I attempt to attach it to the model. so I shall try again later and try leaving it longer

Well would have had some nice pics of some painting of the assault squad and an attempt at a true scale marine but I kinda cut my thumb open and had to go to the hospital ( took 2 hours to get there coz of travel time and nearly passing out for nearly an hour.) by the time the doctor saw me the but had just stopped bleeding and i came home with 6 friggin plasters though I can't use it for 5 days....

Right alot of workdone on the company today 14 new guys for the army built today 2 sergeants 1 bolt gun( combat squad leader) and 9 assault marines and the very special games day model from 2008 =3, and some slight adjustments to some of the sergeants.

All for today might be able to juggle guys around to add in a 9 robed marines and they wont fit in one squad together which means i'm a devistator squad box and assault squad box as well as a can of black spray paint and varying shades of blue away the infantry of the company. Then onto finishing my 5 dreads and finally its 3 razor backs 4 drop pods and 4 rhinos £313 on the dot to go(maybe 3 thunder hawk gunships and 2 transports afterwards if i ever get the money)

Right I've done a pritty big rework of how the army is laid out squad wise... on the plus side i have a new shiny librarian and am 5 assault marines away from finishing the infantry just need the vehicles to add which will come just after crimbo as well as a new thread..... on the plus side heres some pics =D

still needs some work on the left shoulder pad and i need to tone down the blue a bit I think.

On another not I've almost finished the command squad bar some bits on the apothecary mainly vials and I need to make the white look a bit muckier without loosing the whiteness...
