Can i run?......

Hello all,

Had a game with my Blood Angels against some DeamonHunters, and got a Draw...... While I was moving my 3 troops units during one of my movement phases, i went on and 'Ran' them in my shooting phase. My opponent then informed me that in 4th Ed, you could not run. I gave him the raised eyebrow and did not agree with him. He stated that 'Run' during the shooting phase was only introduced during 5th Ed......... Really? is this true? can anyone remember 4th Ed rules regarding 'Running' in the shooting phases if you did not shoot.....

I always believed you could run in the shooting phase if you do not shoot, but then cannot assault. Or, have I got this wrong, and 5th Ed was the first time infantry units could run......

He is correct the ability to "run" in 4th was granted by the fleet rule. why did 4th ed. rules mater were you playing a retro game?

I can't help but think it would be wise to have a copy of the appropriate BRB on hand if playing a retro game ;)
