Faced with an enemy that even Odin and Asgard cannot withstand, Thor must embark on his most perilous and personal journey yet, one that will reunite him with Jane Foster and force him to sacrifice everything to save us all.

From what I understand Sif spends a fair portion of the movie in a mildly racist pose summed up beautifully by a friend as
"Ewww how can Thor like a mortal, that's like doing it with your pet."
And kills a buttload of dark elves.

hope there is a bit more to it than that, I like the Sif/JF dynamic in Journey into Mystery:

The fact shes got a movie poster of her own along with Thor, Loki and Foster suggests shes got a pretty big part...

Ads always lie. In fact, I think movie trailers are usually outsourced to a group of people who specialize in that one specific area. They're not concerned with accurately depicting the movie, they just do what they think will draw the most people. Which makes for some awesome trailers, but don't take the trailers themselves too seriously.

One thing I noticed. Someone must have done something wrong lots of her flesh is covered up and the breast plate actually looks like it might be useful... someone really needs to learn how female armour classes work...

This is 100% true, there are "Trailer Gurus" who exist entirely to make trailers for films they've not worked on. They may give it a cursory watch and get a gist of the plot, but more often one of their subordinates watches the "product" and they just oversee the "placement".
It explains why films like the fast and the furious films can still look slightly appealing in the trailers when the films have suck to the utter low that have now reached.

Urgh remember the rise of the silver surfer trailer? It was the whole film. The film itself was the trailler plus about 90mins of filler..

Yup. Or the Simpsons movie, which had a 6 minute trailer which ruined the punchline of 2/3rds of the jokes.

Spot on. I remember Pegg and Frost being interviewed about one of their films (Paul, I think) and saying they had absolutely no input whatsoever on trailers and advertising and were somewhat miffed that the trailers didn't really accurately portray their film.

Until she gets her own film, yes.:p Seriously though I'm really looking forward to Thor 2 regardless of Sif screentime. Plus it looks like Frigga gets to be bad arse for a bit at least so yay.

I laughed a lot at Jane slapping Loki, his reaction was priceless. Ah I can't wait to see this movie. The first was enjoyable, but really mediocre compared to most of the other Phase I films.

I wouldn't call it mediocre personally, it was hamstrung by being 'god versus god in a vicious fight to the de..oh right gods' but it was entertaining and fun. Better than The Incredible Hulk anyway and roughly level with Captain America.

I felt it was pretty lacking, it was my favourite of the pre-Avengers movies because I love the mythos but it just seemed really....eh. The music didn't match some of the scenes, some of it was pretty cheesy (when he helps Jane make breakfast for everyone, the music just ruins the scene), the action is too CGI-reliant and un-inventive. The best action scenes in the movie are undeniably those between Thor and Loki, the two add a lot of gravitas to the scene that isn't really present elsewhere. To be fair, the new one looks like this won't be the case.

Unused Thor 2 concept art shows Valkyrie was planned:

via The Mary sue (http://www.themarysue.com/thor-2-valkyrie/)

Glad she wasn't added, the cast was crowded enough already but hopefully she will be included in Thor 3 or something. I like the costume, they could maybe tone down the breast cups.

No no no, we can't have Valkyrie until Sif gets her own TV show killing monsters and inspiring sick children in hospitals. She'll be like Hulk Hogan (without all the drugs) and all the little Sifsters out there will unite for justice as she perforates evil.

Never mind that!

The Marvel One Shot for the Bluray release is confirmed.....

It's about The Mandarin in prison, and called 'All Hail The King'

For me, the One Shots are worth the price of the discs all themselves!
